I have heard that UIL is considering creating a Conference 7A, but that won't happen until at least 2022. We will remain with six conferences for the upcoming cycle.

It's that time again! The 2020-2022 UIL realignment process starts with Snapshot Day this month (heard the 25th, can't confirm). Give your thoughts on what bands will be affected by the realignment!

My prediction for Finals is all eight 6A schools plus Frisco Lone Star and Princeton. I don't know enough about the 6A schools to predict a winner in that conference.

Homecoming is from 7-11 PM. We'd probably get back to PHS around 8, so that gives us three hours at the dance.

Princeton HS will attend the following contests: 9/28: Classic on the Lake, Little Elm 10/5: Sounds of Fall, Princeton (Host) 10/12: McKinney Marching Festival, McKinney 10/19: UIL Region 25 Marching Contest, McKinney We will also attend the 5A Area B and 5A State contests if we qualify.

Princeton HS announced their show tonight. It is entitled "Waves", exploring ocean, light, sound waves, etc. Music will feature Silvestri, Debussy, and Mackey among others.

Princeton's Sounds of Fall contest has been scheduled for October 5. No confirmed attendees yet. This contest usually is attended by Argyle, Canton, North Lamar, and other big 4A programs.

I don't know. If they did, they were DQ'd at some point. Either way, the UIL website does not list a 2011 SMBC appearance for Poteet, which is what I went off of.

This list is only for ACTIVE streaks (i.e., streaks including a 2017 or 2018 apperance). Poteet did not attend the 2011 SMBC.

Just for fun, I decided to do some digging and discover which current 5A band has the longest active streak of consecutive State Contest appearances. I did not restrict it to only appearances at a 5A SMBC (or 4A before 2014). I counted it if they went to a SMBC for any conference. I was also only able to fully track down to the 2002/2003 contests, as the archives only show Finalists after that point. 1st: Princeton, Roma (8) 2nd: Abilene Wylie, Forney, Frisco Wakeland (5) 3rd: Cedar Park (4) 4th: Fort Worth Southwest, Mesquite Poteet (3) I will probably do some digging on the other conferences at some point.

I saw TSO a couple of days ago. It was OK, there was just too much pyrotechnics for my taste.
