  1. I believe Cy-Woods bc the Cy-Fair Battle at the Berry is also this weekend
  2. I checked the weather for the Katy Contest tomorrow and there’s only a 10% chance between 3-6 pm
  3. Contest is tomorrow what are your predictions?
  4. One of the adjudicators is Brian Casey who has now seen a few of these bands perform at Galena Park on saturday. Interesting...
  5. We are too, well we have to be now that we are 6A this year for the first time...we had changes in our staff and our music and visual designers are wayyyyy better this year with actual backgrounds helping us out haha
  6. I’m happy this year that we get to see you guys perform since you guys killed it last year. And as for finals I hope you can see us perform if not maybe you can find a video somewhere *wink wink* lol.
  7. Clements is after us by 6 bands and I don’t know if your band does it different than us or not but we don’t see bands perform before we do so I’m not sure but hopefully in finals haha I hope and plan on both of our bands making finals!
  8. Their show is Clair de Loon (play on Clair de Lune) it’s about schizophrenia and it’s is full of dark twisted chords with some challenging runs from both woodwinds and brass. Their hits when they play full out give me full body goosebumps, and they are dedicated to detail this year! They have layered parts so intricately you’d think a concert band just took the field, of you want a dark and twisted show that keeps you wondering what’s next be in the stands Saturday for Tomball Memorial.
  9. Not sure we are in an extremely hard area for being new to 6A but hoping we can squeeze through and make it to state if we do so then we can keep our streak alive and have gone to state 3 of 4 of my years so fingers are crossed and practicing full out to perform the way we want to!
  10. Tomball Memorial will have a full show this week and props! Don’t wanna miss their show if they can amp up their sounds this could be a cool show!!!
  11. At the beginning of the season I saw a spring rehearsal and they looked alright but not quite as strong as some previous years, for Tomball Memorial’s rocky start this year they were pretty good yesterday at Galena Park (no props, and show not finished) they backed off on their sound at Galena for some reason but Katy next week I’m hoping they will crank it!
  12. I’m a Tomball Memorial person we were 5A last year but this year we got bumped up to 6 A and it’s a whole new world!
  13. With no props and down some members Tomball Memorial stayed strong and became a presence for its first 6A appearance rabking second for class 6A. Go Cats!!!
  14. Tomball Memorial will show up and shut out a lot of competition. Secure finalist and likely top 3
  15. The Tomball Memorial v Bryan game was delayed by an hour for lightening delays and at halftime TMHS only performed the first movement and Bryan did not perform at all
  16. Tomball Memorial is new to 6A if the whole copyright problem wasn’t such a big issue I would share some of the sounds they are belting out.
  17. This week at our school students worked crazy hard in the heat with feels like up to 117, so at the end of the week our director and a local snow cone truck came to school and it was 50% off for band kids and 50% of all proceeds went back to the band. Proud of the kids for fighting through even with the extreme heat and the occasional sick kid.
  18. We still had rehearsal but we had some medical problems so had longer water breaks. We are also in the Houston area and will continue practices all week no matter the heat.
  19. While Tomball Memorial is brand new to 6A with a smaller band size, they have managed to crank out sounds early this season that surpassed many 5A state finalists and their own sounds from last year. Through their change in designers and writers including members from SCV and the Cavaliers they may be able to play rough with 6A this year. I also think bands in this area to watch include TWHS, Northshore, CP, Klein Oak, and Westfield. Exciting year for this area I hope there is some close competition.
  20. Tomball Memorial is new in 6A but has gotten some great designers and directors again this year including a visual designer from the Cavaliers...and the Cavaliers show is visually strong so this could be interesting.
  21. What I have heard is that they are pulling from both schools slightly but more from the Woodlands, but I didn’t think they were starting as a 6A. They may be I just didn’t know that.
  22. What do you all think about Area F with Conroe ISD (College Park, Woodlands), Tomball Memorial, and all the others?
