Which band in Atlanta had this amazing and creepy version of Every Step You Take in their show? I just heard it again on Dancing With the Stars and I can't get enough of it!!

You're right about the huge improvement in audio quality. And I truly do get that the camera guys can't possibly know what to follow and when on each band, but so much of it is intuitive if you know marching band at all. Hopefully they will continue to improve because these kids deserve a quality product to match the high quality of their performances!

OK that was too cool with the rapper. And that band could GET DOWN! Was just looking at the BOA results for that year and noticed Gary Markham was the chief judge way back then too. That man has been doing that gig for a LONG time!!

That show would do very well even today. And one can't help but wonder if it was THIS show that inspired the Bluecoats Gold winning show of 2016! Great job Danielle. But seriously, GREAT JOB!

OK now that you've said it, can we have a conversation about how bad the FloMarching camera angles are? Do they hire these people right off the back alleys of these superdomes or what??!! I find myself wanting to fling my laptop out the window or throw things at the TV when I'm watching FLO. The cameras either stay much too long on one tiny aspect of a show, fail to capture the big hit moments completely, or they walk around with the camera pointed to the ground for 5 to 10 seconds while still filming. It's so frustrating!! OK, rant over. Carry on.

Looks like $10 per session or $18 for both prelims and finals. I'll probably just watch 5A finals on Wed night for $10.

We want to see Vista succeed so badly! Especially after a bit of director turmoil that they recently had. Go Ranger Band! Would dearly love to see them in finals next week.

I do love me some Ranger Band!! Things have changed a bit in the past few years for sure, especially with the move up to 6A.

I don't think they proved Horn rank wrong. I think they just were finally (hopefully!) able to establish a place in the top 30. Like football rankings, they change from week to week depending on how the "team" is currently doing. But best wishes to Haltom for future growth and a steady climb up the rankings ladder!

I know I am coming across all wishy washy rooting for so many different 5A bands, but I just want to see a REAL competition. While I do want to see CP continuing to perform at a high level, I think it also doesn't hurt a program to lose occasionally. If you always win, then your program loses momentum and that special spark that keeps you interesting fades. Cedar Park needs to rediscover what made them so special. And a little competition is just what they need! And I think it may also just be a new era for 5A bands. I'm so pumped for Dripping Springs, and for Georgetown especially. And who knows, the new 5A state champ may come from an entirely different area altogether!

This makes me sad to hear, really. With Cedar Park being what we refer to at Leander as our "sister school," I will always have a soft spot for them and want them to continue doing well. Every program goes thru dry spells tho, and Leander had quite an extended one prior to 2014, but hopefully CP will rebound quickly.

I've always been a huge Dripping Springs fan, and I'm really rooting for y'all in the state competition. Their gorgeous butterfly show a few years back will go down as one of my all-time favorite marching band shows ever!

Yes, when the traffic that's holding everyone to an excruciating 45 mph let's up for even a minute, cars will jet away easily at speeds of 90 mph and up. It's either one or the other on I-35 between Dallas and San Antonio!
