Oh my god CTJ missed finals!

Happy BOA San Antonio Week! Hard to believe how fast this season has flown by. But the big moment is almost upon us, especially with 6A State being in the same week. Here's who I think will make finals as of now: All of last year's returning finalists: Woodlands, Reagan, Vandegrift, Vista, CTJ, Round Rock, Cedar Ridge, Cedar Park, and Marcus. Which leaves 5 spots open: Rouse is a lock. Westwood, Wakeland, and Bridgeland have a very high chance for finals as well. And then there's that last spot. So many groups could take it, but there's in my opinion 6 bands that have the best chance for getting that last spot: Westlake, Timber Creek, LD Bell, Lake Travis, Bowie and Leander. Westlake, Timber Creek, LD Bell and Lake Travis have an edge in that they each have one or multiple BOA regional finalist placements as well as qualifying for state. However, will finals week fatigue get the better of them by BOA San Antonio? Bowie and Leander were first and second out of finals in 2022. Despite not qualifying for state, Bowie also has 2 BOA regional finals placements, more rehearsal time to clean and perfect their craft for BOA San Antonio, and has a great performance time for prelims. Leander doesn't have state until the week after BOA, which could also mean vital rehearsal time that could push them back into finals. Early season success doesn't always hold through until the end, so it'll be interesting to see who gets those 5 spots. It all comes down to the performances themselves and if the judges are buying into what the bands are selling. Good luck everyone!

It warms my heart to see Bell having a bit of a resurgence. Hopefully Bowie (my alumni) will have one too in the near future.

LD Bell was 1st overall in prelims. Prosper was 2nd, Wakeland was 3rd, Keller Centeral was 4th, Keller was 11th, Southlake Carroll was 12th. First out was Hendrickson by a 1.7 margin.

I've definitely seen them. Considering Rouse was not able to keep their lead over Vandegrift tonight at TMC, I'm not making any concrete predictions just yet.

Is it too early to start thinking about a Gold medal for Wakeland at State?

WOW. Stunning results. Keller not in Top 3 in 4A, Hendrickson not in finals, another 3 way tie for a caption, LD Bell getting a class championship for the first time in a while...what an unpredictable season this BOA has been!

This is now the 3rd 3 way tie in BOA history, and the second one this season. Outstanding Music Performance (4A) - Prosper, Timber Creek, LD Bell. And yes, all 3 of the 3-way ties in BOA's history have happened in Texas, because of course they have.

So the announcer forgot to announce Rouse while all the bands were getting the participation awards and it ended with everyone chanting Rouse House while Vandergrift's drum majors were saluting. Awkward....

HUGE Congratulations to Bridgeland and Cy-Fair placing 5th and 3rd. This may shake things up in the later season! Exciting stuff all around!

Glad my livestream was working to see Herbon's show this time! Even if they don't win tonight based off of their electronics not working and starting way late, I know this will motivate them to continue to push forward. Can't wait to see the full show on the field!

This is only the second 3 way tie for a caption in BOA history, the first one being at BOA San Antonio 2010 where LD Bell, Marcus and James Bowie tied for Outstanding Visual in prelims.

Bowie has never not made finals at BOA Austin. They did not attend in 2016.
