Personally, I thought Castle played better than Carmel. They jumped a lot in skill level this year compared to last year at this time.

Am I crazy for thinking castle was better than Carmel?

on the post performance interview last year I believe they said they only go every 4 years, but correct me if I’m wrong

Seeing as BOA Midland just happened out here, anyone have predictions for what to expect? How many do are expected to advance, any dark horses? Any power houses in this area? (I'm largely unfamiliar with West Texas but am intrigued after BOA Midland)

did they do that for prelims? We were thinking it was finals hype at the tunnel

I think exactly the opposite, I think them losing in DFW like this was the best case for them, it showed they have to work if they wanna win at grand nats and to even beat Avon at San Antonio.

The contest started to lose steam about the time the Mustang invitational started to pick it up. But as far as I know the only Texas bands that have attended that contest have been WF Rider and Rockwall unless that changes this year. But I also believe they have had multiple out of state groups from different states in the same year as well.

I thought they played extremely well and would be close to finals personally.

I’ve been a part of both a 2A band and I graduated when I was in a 5A band, and I can vouch and say that there is a massive skill gap between the large and small school classifications, it’s not a knock against small school’s, they just have less resources.

I’ll be working finals so we may have to do a txbands meetup after retreat
