Given the current growth rates in the LISD schools, most if not all of the attending LISD bands will probably be 4A.

There actually is supposed to be a full band retreat for finals: http://www.texasmarchingclassic.com/modules/fmcontent/content.php?topic=schedules&id=37&page=2015-finals-scheduleI remember last year that the people running the contest had to make the full retreat a drum-major-only retreat in an effort to save time because prelims was delayed due to weather.

I'm not sure how Rouse will do this season, but man, this is probably the best they have been visually this early in the season (musically, they're doing okay). They are certainly on the rise (even if it might be slowly) and they could potentially become a serious competitor over the next couple years or so. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ih_46c7oW5w

I'm really hoping that this year (if not the next) will be a breakout year for Westwood. Placing 13th at the UIL 6A State Marching Contest last year over bands that had beaten them earlier in the season (like Clements and Cedar Ridge) is extremely impressive for a band that doesn't seem to have a lot of history in terms of elite success (please correct if I'm wrong on that). Even if they don't make finals at BOA Austin, they will still have another opportunity at BOA Atlanta to grow upon last year's success. However, my fingers remain crossed for them to make finals at BOA Austin.

Is it just me, or does Flower Mound look really clean on the visual ensemble spectrum for this early in the season? I would say they are at or just a notch below the level of James Bowie and/or Marcus from a visual ensemble standpoint, but it might just be the awesome drill that they're marching (great visual general effect instead of great visual ensemble marching?). And, quoting LKendrick, Keller's colorguard has some field coverage! As for the band, they look solid from a visual standpoint. I can't really comment on the quality of the music for either of these groups because the sound quality in both videos is somewhat distorted.

For now, I'm holding off on placing 2-5. And my belief that James Bowie will win this year is more shaky than last year, but they are nonetheless still the favorite going into this year's contest. 1. James Bowie 2-5. Cedar Park Leander Round Rock Vandegrift 6. Vista Ridge 7. Dripping Springs 8. Cedar Ridge (Wild Card) Upper Bubble: Westlake Hendrickson Lower Bubble: Winston Churchill Westwood (Semi-dark horse) Anderson Pflugerville Aledo

Last year's campus improvement plans for Vandegrift and Vista Ridge put the math for their 10-12th grade enrollments at 1631 and 1676, respectively. While both schools are in the ballpark for being 4A, I think only Vista Ridge could potentially be 4A, while Vandegrift has less of a chance of becoming 4A. Granted, there could be a huge influx of people who have moved from outside the district into the attendance zones of those schools.
