New this year weare giving all our members the opportunity to host meetme events. You get to tell us what event you want to host, how you want to do the meetme, and even what prizes to give away. As to the first request: we only know so many bands that exist. Anyone can add/edit the database to help improve its quality. I changed the template of the main results page. The 'year founded' column has been replaced with 'url'. If a school has a website, you can click the link that appears.

I believe the file generated is in standard m3u format, which would work in any media player software

Actually it has nothing to do with iTunes. Unfortuanetly the playlist that the server generates is coming out blank due to our media library being down.

I'm sorry... I didn't realize those got approved. Our last event for this prediction season was Grand Nationals. Expect a post this weekend with the conclusion of 2006 marching predictions.

After looking into your probem, I found a problem with TxBLive on cingular customers. The problem should now be fixed. If you are still having a problem with recieving text message, perhps you do not have text messaging on your phone/plan?

The number of text messages will depend on the length of the score output. It will all be in one text message, but may overflow to a second one (160 character limit). There will be one alert sent for finalist bands, and one for finals results.

Yesterday we sent our first edition of the TxBands newsletter. Two mistakes happened when we were sending out the newsletter. Here's what happened last night: 1) Some of you may have recieved two copies of the same email. This was a mistake on our part. The emails got slightly delayed in an outgoing queue, but we thought the emails did not get sent out so they we resent. We'll try to make this not happen again. 2) The unsubscribe link was left off the email. We understand not everyone wants to read the TxBands newsletter (although we would like you to ). Don't forget folks, Daylight Savings Time is no longer in affect. Your forums clock (like mine) may be one hour off. To adjust this, go to your control panel ("My Controls" at the top), click on board settings, and deselect the box asking if Daylight Savings Time is in effect. The board is on Central Time Zone (GMT -0600). If you live outside this time zone you may have to adjust further.

Tonight we are introducing TxBLive, a new feature to send you the results of contests instantly. http://www.txbands.com/txblive TxBLive! uses text messages to instantly relay you the placements from prelims and finals. We will have staff members at select contests to upload the results so they can be sent to you. We will be piloting this on the BOA Super Regional on November 4th. Hopefully we can get all the kinks worked out for UIL 5A State the following Monday. And of course, we will have Grand Nats. Using text messages eliminates the extreme lag from people refreshing forums (go to the BOA forums on GN night) waiting for posts to be updated. Ok... it might just be me BUT it seems kind of strange to go to the FJM website and see someone in your uniform. The guy in the picture has a perfectly fitted uniform and great posture. I wonder if FJM has band students model their uniform samples?

Bowie won the Prelim Aux but Cedar Park won it in finals. And there was a GE score, but not a GE caption. We will do the caption ranking that way.
