Leander ISD redistricted a year ago and it resulted in less kids at Vista. It's a real possibility they move down to 5A. If they stay 6A it will be a very small 6A. This shift also changed the number of students going to Cedar Park and Vandy. Not sure where the numbers will shake out for those 3 schools

The Lake Hamilton Power Band is back to back 6A state marching champions (‘22 & ‘23). They made it to semis at Grand Nationals in 2023 and placed 3rd in the AA division. They should bring a good show!

Dropping prediction now to see how I do in the pre-season guessing, this year will likely be a little more consistent with Bedford since a lot of repeat contenders will be here along with Marcus being a predictable 1st: 1. Marcus 2. Coppell 3. Wakeland 4. Prosper 5. SLC 6. Wylie 7. Braswell 8. Lone Star 9. McKinney High 10. McKinney North 11. Rockwall 12. Lebanon Trail/Forney/Rock Hill

Enrollment lists have been published for everything besides Nationals. Will include San Antonio's list as courtesy but I don't plan on editing changes on all threads so I'm not going to overextend for all the others. Seems like most pre-contest discussion for BOA events happens on HornRank's forums anyhow, and this place really lights up more on contest day. Interesting for both these bands. I feel like this will be good for Braswell as a way to make an early statement. As for McKinney North this could be really good because it’s at the same stadium for area and a good way to show where they stand early on.

Honestly I think I'm at least as excited about Leander's show theme, as I am about CP, this year. But don't tell my kids!

100%! With David Duffy on the staff now, I think they have the potential to do bigger things than anyone would have expected last year. Already a SA finalist and GN finalist, you add Duffy’s show design and guard design abilities, that’s scary lol. I’d be on the look out for them.

Although people seem to see Area C as the hardest area for 4A, I definitely think B's the deepest. I would consider more than half of last year's lineup at least decent when a few years ago you'd be hard pressed to make that statement for a quarter of any 4A area's field. I think Panther Creek's two-year extended stay really motivated several bands to up their game: Stephenville and Aubrey in particular come to mind.
