  2. I think that new Northwest School is opening probably 2027 or 2028 from what I know. I believe both Denton is opening a school in Cross Roads and Royse City is opening on in Fate around that time. Asides from that I know that Prosper's Richland HS is opening this year. I believe they also have a 5th school planned but it probably won't affect realignment until 2030 I'm assuming.
  3. I believe Lone Star will be at this event.... They haven't updated their calendar yet.
  4. Do we know of any new schools opening? I bet there will be some new 4a and 5a schools that could throw some interesting twists in the mix. What about that school in Northwest ISD?
  5. It is on their FB page
  6. For 6A: Allen Plano Plano West Plano East Princeton Wylie Wylie East TMEA has an interactive map of the regions on their website.
  7. I feel dumb for asking, but who’s all in region 25? Also is there a way to find the region maps?
  8. That was my first thought as well - bring back 25 to C - but unfortunately the same problem previously mentioned would arise in J, but would be much worse. McKinney North and Reedy could help get them back above 15 bands, but that still would only be three bands advancing to state in that scenario. That prevents even Prosper from making state. It'll be interesting for sure to see what TMEA/UIL does if multiple schools in the same area drop below the 6A cutoff.
  9. Possibly, I think Walnut Grove would mainly depend on how much growth they receive but they can definitely be in 6A talk And 6A area C, I'm not sure what could be changed about that for now, maybe 24 or 25 to C could help out on that? 24 isn't heavy on 6a as it is 5A so it could probably slightly balance J a bit and ensure that there's enough people in C
  10. Interesting. Where did you get that information? LCM has notoriously kept their shows hidden til the fall ssason.
  11. 6A Area C would need another region if this were to happen. Worst case scenario would be that they could fall under 15 bands that qualify for area - nightmare scenarios for Sachse, Duncanville, and Rockwall among the rest of the bunch. 5A Area B could be very interesting with those additions. A band I would like to add to the list is Walnut Grove - they will definitely be moving up to 6A in the next realignment.

  13. Here is a good thing about every school in this area coming in to this season (alphabetical) Allen: I thought that Fire and Ice was a step in the right direction for their program and what potential the band could have. Braswell: They underdogged their way to the top 5 and had an incredibly great show, and that 380 area is experiencing tremendous growth. Byron Nelson: I really liked their show last year and I'm excited to see what they have ready for this upcoming year Flower Mound: I love what they are doing with the theming, and I also believe that they can benefit a lot from the new judging system for Area. Guyer: I think that Guyer is great with concepts, as long as they can have a show they can execute they could do a lot this year. Hebron: State champions in 6A and still one of the most talked about bands online. Lewisville: They get a little unappreciated due to their siblings being a little better than them, but I think that they have a ton of potential in their program. Little Elm: Their guard won WGI Scholastic Open with a record score for that class and the percussion got invited to Midwest, which could bring a lot of motivation for the band program for this year and future years. Marcus: I enjoy getting to watch their shows year from year, and it is always satisfying to see how Marcus performs. McKinney: They might be THE school to look out for this year. McKinney Boyd: With the right show I think that they will do a lot for their program, I think that they could definitely reach high with it. Northwest: With the right show they could place higher than you could expect, and I think that they could be a sleeper school once they start building up these next few years. Plano: They were pretty close to making finals this year, which may mean that there could be a lot of motivation to push them to that direction. Plano East: For sneaking into the finals, it was a little surprising but not unexpected with a show that was great to watch as a spectator. Plano West: I saw that the jazz went to the Essentially Ellington contest, which is pretty cool and I think that could mean that they are building to be a good program or year for them in other aspects and not just in jazz. Princeton: They had a solid show for their first year in 6A, and they are one of the fastest growing towns in America which could help with size Prosper: They are coming off from a Grand Nationals appearance, and I think that they could be a contender state once again with a good show. Rock Hill: Rock Hill is more of a concept school but that is the cool thing about them is that they are great with coming up with theming which could be good for GE. V.R Eaton: They are also someone you should look out for, they will probably have a really good show, as long as the execution can happen a lot can happen for this year for Eaton. Wylie: I saw that they had staff changes, which I think will be good for them. I think that they could be someone to sneak higher than they were and if not I know they will still have a great show. Wylie East: They have the staff changes they need I think. The Sachse director was a good grab and I think it could mean a lot for their program Area J is an area where you can see great things happening in every school regardless of if they were 1st, 14th or 20th which is the good thing about J is because it might seem competitive the whole time but there is growth happening in every school that might not be seen the whole time because of something as simple as a placement. I'm excited to see how all of these bands do this year and I hope I get the chance to see a lot of these shows this year.
  14. Little Cypress - Mauriceville (LCM) theme screenshot. Video reveal on their FB. It is similar to NL's theme. Rise Up (LCM) vs. Ascension (NL) Both are playing Stairway to Heaven. LCM was usually in finals prior to the Area C realignment.
  15. My thoughts were that most strong competitive programs selected their music & music/drill/choreo staff months ago. If a band program hasn't figured that stuff out by May....
  16. Lone Star has been improving but they still have some areas for improvement.... Wakeland is a monster...
  17. Yeah I was really hoping CP would attend this one!
  18. You might be onto something 😂
  19. Saw some videos of bands in this area and man this Area is going to be crazy this year. I remember back in 2016-2018 when this area was not this active but now the amount of potential that has risen has skyrocketed it! The Main 2 I want to talk about is Bridgeland and Woods Bridgeland with their show - Cerulean - is very wonderful! The music they are playing fits the vibes for the show well, and they already got a lot on. Can not wait to see them this year. Woods and their show this year being - (It was hard to hear the name of the show in the video recording. Duo something) - Is very, VERY different from any show they have done. They are pushing their talent further and further year after year. I remember them back in the 2010s and I never expected them to reach this far. Can not wait. Other than that, I am going to go make a post on my OG Area, can not wait to see what this Area in store this year!
  20. Your thoughts and ranking predictions are pretty questionable.
  21. Lone star has been improving VERY fast, and I think this is their breakthrough year where they take the number one. With all the director changes, these are my predictions. Lone star (with how much they have been improving this has to be the year they de-throne wakeland) Wakeland (You cant deny they are still a powerhouse) North (I don't even think they are that good, but they keep on winning) Reedy (I think memorials new director will bring them to state) Argyle (they did pretty well last year, but all good things come to an end) Walnut Grove (one of my friends said they are going to be good this year) Emerson (they had pretty cool plumes last year, so I could see them pulling off another insane thing this year) Lebanon (don't really know what their show is) Centennial (I forgot what bands were left in this area) Liberty (I remembered this band and thought they were perfect for 10th place)
  22. Your right🥀 prelims!!!
  23. Maybe Royse City could do well, that whole area is growing pretty quickly in the Fate and RC area. Could take that as an advantage to sneak into finals. If not, maybe Mesquite or Tyler Legacy, kind of hard to tell at the moment.
  24. My things is with Berkner, if they do move down to 5A and go to Area C I could see that making Berkner a contender to win Area C 5A, with it being a battle between them, NM, and maybe Poteet. Along with that, since Berkner was a 6A Area C finalist last year that would leave a gap for another band to sneak into 6A finals.
  25. I think that if the Frisco scenario happens with Reedy jumping up and Memorial moving down, I wouldn't be shocked if they wanted to add nearby school in 3 4 or 5A to slightly balance Region 24 depending on what the new Prosper Richland ends up being (probably 4 or 5A), maybe from 25 or 2 if they get more in 6A or 5A with jumps. Maybe Aubrey or Celina or Pilot Point? Just sort of some food for thought but who knows what'll happen
  26. I think that if Berkner were to drop, they could be a pretty solid contender for the SMBC in 5A with the right execution. It could be interesting to watch that. And Memorial could also be a state level program in the 4A level of SMBC with the results they have rn at 5A B. Reedy jumping up could be interesting too, it'll make you wonder how they'll do in J (BOA prosper this year could be a sneak peek of that with a lot of J going to that contest). Also if reedy and Sherman make state happens, it could be interesting to see how it shakes up athletic districts; itll probably be a whole shuffle and it makes me wonder if itll affect also the UIL Areas and Regions for 6A
