It's certainly possible; it happened before with BOA Arlington 2010, and esp. 2011. But I'm not aware of any recent data that points in that direction.

Definitely will watch their performance and get an idea where this program is at.

Their first non game performance to the public is tomorrow at Mansfield Preview of Champions. After many changes in staff I think they might be a dark horse.

Thank you for this info, I enjoy learning and reading feedback on lower tier programs that don’t get any press. I know the upper tier programs get a lot of mentions but there are no surprises their, let’s talk about all programs and once in while mention some good programs out there.

After attending Mansfield POC, I can very firmly say Legacy and Mansfield are exceeding my expectations, and the race between the 3 Mansfield 6A schools is going to be extremely tight this year.

I think Boswell's strong showing at USBands Saginaw puts them in running for the gold with Richland and The Colony.

If Legacy and maybe Little Elm make strong showings as well, the top 5 could be especially competitive at this competition.

I see they are scheduled at Don Hanna and BOA DFW. Do you think, if they actually attempt both it could hurt them long run or is this a Varsity/JV situation? I'm a bit new to some of this. Their show was great Saturday and strong competition for sure.

Boswell addition is huge asl.  I think we are gonna see some don hanna kings outta them. the colony could still be second unless richland gets back on track this week

According to the contest website, Highland Park is no longer listed on the schedule. This could open up a finals spot for another band.

Great question! I can't speak to their plans with any authority, but if I had to guess the strategy here, Don Hanna finals is a fallback in case they don't make BOA DFW finals. As to your comment about it hurting them, I suppose in theory the tiredness of having two "prelims" runs could set back whatever their finals performance is. But skilled directors (such as at Boswell) know how to navigate that kind of situation.

I agree. Richland and Boswell were close in their comp on Saturday (US Bands saginaw) Boswell only beat Richland by 1.2. If Richland can have a very productive week they can definitely get close to beating Boswell
