Yup gonna be a busy week.  Football games and Halloween on Friday, UIL competition on Saturday.

Weather looks great for Converse on Saturday, partly cloudy, high in the mid/upper 70s, then into the mid 60s for Finals.

for predictions, this area just like its 6a counterpart has a very obvious deal of who’s going to state (aka every region 32 band). in that case does anyone know how wagner hs is doing? i feel like if there were a band to break through in this area it would be them

 

also do we have confirmation that there will be 5 bands going to state from this area? in that case it will be a fight for that 4th spot

I think 25 qualified so 5 will go?  Even if only 24 show up and compete?  But I'm really not sure.  Others around here will know for sure.

My kid is a region 32 band kid, and they were told 5 bands advance.

If some schools choose to opt out of area the amount of state spots remain the same.

I was gonna do a "Twas the night before Area" post, but decided to spare you all.

Looking forward to tomorrow's competition, best of luck to all who are competing, and even more good wishes to the tired old parents schlepping equipment around all day.  At least it's not 8 massive barber poles or 23 mirrors this time...😀

We are currently on a 2 hour weather delay for finals.

Wow what a day.  That delay really took a lot out of me.  Finally home and done unloading the trailer and box truck.

For those who don't already know, these were the results at Finals. Congrats to all advancing, seeya next week in SA!

Yes in 2019, 2021 and 2024, though the first time it has received placements of only 4th across all judges.
