I honestly think that Lakeview Centennial could make top two this year. With the choice of songs, and the theme it could have a lot of potential plus I was at one of their stadium rehearsal and the choreo, sound, guard, and props look reallyy good!!! So i think yall should watch out for them. Not that the other bands are bad though

I've seen that UIL made some changes to the Area judging system this year, but I'm not sure exactly how it works. Could someone please explain the new system? Could this possibly change some of the results this year, or is the adjudication system pretty similar to how it was last year?

has anyone seen anything on west.?

I’ve seen only seen clips and leaks from summer band.  They look and sound very strong.  Seems like the band grew significantly in numbers, too (they appear to have four drum majors now also). Given that they got 2nd at Area prelims last year and their continued rise, they are definitely in the running for a state spot, but again this year is a toss up and we will get a better picture of the top contenders later this season.

Video of Kaufman.  Can def see HP eclipsing them even though they seem on track.  Also, thoughts on Kaufman being “inspired” by North Mesquite’s show from last year (same theme and music)? lol

Are those Jordan’s props from last year?

does anyone have a video of Mount Pleasant? it feels like I've seen every other "competitive" band this year. Also, I saw somewhere that the area judging format has changed, this is untrue.

This area is quickly becoming one of the hardest to predict in the entire state, especially as the competitiveness continues to grow. I honestly don't know how the area will shake out, but here's what I think could happen:

I think 1-3 will be Poteet, North Mesquite, and Lakeview in any kind of order. I do think Poteet will be the Area Champion this year, especially with the new expanded music judging for area (they beat North Mesquite in almost every music category at state last year). I'm a big believer in Lakeview's show this year, and I believe they could possibly compete for 2nd!

My state bubble bands (4-7) in no particular order are Kaufman, Mount Pleasant, Highland Park, and West Mesquite. Honestly, these groups are super close that I can't make a confident enough prediction. If I had to guess, I would say Kaufman gets the 4 spot. West Mesquite is a wild card for me, especially with the inconsistent judging last year. HP and Mount Pleasant are always competitive as well.

In terms of the finals bubble, Red Oak and Terrell are locked in at 8-9 in my opinion. The real question comes with Marshall, Texas High, and Naaman Forest. I honestly think Naaman could be a sleeper here; if they march just a little cleaner, I think they could possibly make finals!

Barring some wacky judging, this is a rough idea of how I think things will shake out here.

If im being honest i feel like north is experiencing a downfall they still seem like they will make state but there marching seems inconsistent among the group. Also Kaufman seems more inconsistent this year . Poteet sounds great and i believe they a good chance at first this year. haven’t seen hp or mount pleasant so i cant really give an opinion. West sax solo sounds great and also the band seems louder and more energetic still need a little more effort and improvement tho. Lc sound amazing and also seem great. excited for this area this year

My predictions are

1.) Poteet

2.) Lc

3.) north

4.) west

5.)mp

6.)kaufman

7.) Hp

8.)red oak

9.) marshal

10.) terrel

Wow very interesting props, I like how the props just dropped to reveal the band, I’m starting to think that if they are able to keep a really good pace in their season then they could possibly be contenders for first or second place

I’ve seen several MP shows over the years with cool props. They always bring it.
