idk man. Braswell of recent definitely does tend to have continuous growth over the season where Lone Star normally has their full show ready and pretty cleaned up, but I don't think it's impossible, but I think LS will prob take it but don't be surprised if they don't

As mentioned on another post, Walnut Grove will be attending the Plano East contest this year, which means that they have possibly dropped this contest (per calendar). Wonder if it changes up any predictions for this contest.

I feel like it definitely does. I feel like they would’ve made finals here and definitely made a good showing. Here’s what my predictions look like

2. Braswell

3. McKinney

4. Rock Hill

5. Argyle

6. McKinney North

7. Little Elm

8. Memorial

9. James Martin

10. Liberty

11. Celina

12. Lakeview Centennial 

 

I feel like Argyle is the one that could hop around spots but this is where my minds at right now.

Definitely under ranking Celina. They placed 6th here last year beating Memorial and Liberty. They placed right behind Argyle. 
 

I would love to see Argyle rise back up to the top in 5A.

Believe me I love Celina and I have them as one of the favorites to win 4A state. My prediction will change when videos are released.

It would be a glimpse to the rivalry between Lone Star and Wakeland at the beginning of the season.... kinda like  DCI this year with Crusaders and Bloo...

I agree with this.... Lone Star has a lot riding on this... returning Champions.... Braswell is a great school hopefully Lone Star can level up their program..

This is fixing to be a good contest, every program thats seems to be coming are all incredible. This is gonna be the contest to watch if youre in DFW that weekend.

Since this contest will follow the 4A/5A/6A Area format, I wonder how Italy would be scored. Would they just be classified as a 4A for this contest?

with Farmersville and North Lamar joining, 4a just got even more competitive. I can't wait to see these bands go at it. I could see any of the 4a bands making finals this year especially since it's so early on in the season.

As awesome as this would be, I think it’ll probably only be 1-2 this year again, especially with even more stacked the contest had gotten, but I would love to see more this time around.

I agree. Probably only Celina, if that. They placed high last year and surprisingly knocked back a few frisco schools but this contest is even more stacked this year. I know last year they only did an exhibition for the 4a bands that did not make finals. I wonder if they would consider doing a separate finals for 4a and below?

Nope Italy would be classified as a 2A for this contest and probably be the first school to perform and would probably pack up and leave after they perform. I don't know why they are going to this contest unless they couldn't find anywhere else to go. This contest has always been for the big hitters. The only schools that have made the finals I believe 4A and lower at this contest have been Mineola (2023), North Lamar (2023), China Spring (2023)  and Celina (2023/2024)
