I imagine all the top 4A bands will be there. This is a regular one for Celina so all the other top bands (save for panther creek iirc) attend to see how they stack up early on.

I wonder how Lakeview, rowlett, and north forney will do! Lakeview and Rowlett were real close to making finals spot, wonder what they’ll have in store next season!

Just checked and you’re right, they do have Wylie listed for that week. Can’t really speak to whichever is true or not because I just copied and pasted the list of bands from the Melissa band website lol.

I’d probably guess they’re gonna go to Wylie, closer and probably won’t be as insane as a lineup as here so they’d have a better shot at finals.
 

Will probably be off the list next update if I had to guess, though either one is a good option for them

The 4a matchup at this contest has been increasing since it began. It was pretty stacked last year too and none of the bands had their full shows out.

This Melissa contest is worth the money to attend. There are some heavy heavy heavy hitters in this. Yes it is early in the contest season but it's defiantly a measuring stick for your program against other big hitters.

If Lone Star comes with the same power that they did the last two years, they will absolutley win for sure. But I am rooting for Argyle as well.

I don't know, it will be hard to de-throne the 2 time champ, but it is always possible.

3A Mineola made finals 2 yrs ago and 4A Celina made finals last year. It's going to be hard for a 4A to make finals because this contest now going into it's 3rd year is going to heavily attended by 5A/6A bands. You might get 1 or 2 4A's but they got to be exceptional.

Ik last year they did the large school/small school where it was like top 12 large being like 5A/6A and then 4 small being 1-4A I think idk but I think Celina will be in probably but yeah it’s gonna be harder considering how popular it’s getting

Another thing about the Melissa contest is that it is a concrete jungle with it being early in the school year. There is no where to escape the sun and it can play a factor in early and middle of the day bands performing.

A long as directors are smart and keep there kids watered it really shouldn't

Most programs Ive seen (at least for north DFW) refuse to let kids onto the bus without their water jugs since its a part of their uniform checklist, any program that doesnt have this as a requirement to go to any game, show, competition, or heck especially rehearsals is really setting them up for failure

If this isnt mandatory for EVERY school, Im frankly shocked there hasnt been more lawsuits or reports of heatstroke

I'm sure that we're gonna have WAY more people than listed, but here's what I think an early top 12 could be for this contest with possible "ranges". 4A looks insane for this show and has all the big guys asides from panther creek because of them sticking to the Plano East contest. I want to wait for more people to sign up before I lock in my prediction however.
