Ok….. here we go… 6 days out! No more top 5 bottom 5 box.

1 Wax

2 Forney

3 Rockwall

4 Sachse

———————————————

5 Heath

6 Lake Highlands

7  Richardson

8 North Forney

9 Duncanville

10 Berkner

——————————————

11 Tyler Legacy

12 JJ Pearce

13 Garland

14 North Garland

15 Nimitz

16 Mesquite

17 Royse City

18 Rowlett

19 MacArthur

20 Horn

21 Irving

22 Skyline

1) I don’t think Wax has shown anything not to be clear number.

2-3 Forney finished Just ahead of Rockwall at BOA and has a few more skins on the wall and state history but Rockwall has made a steady rise over the past 3 years. I think whichever marches later in Finals will squeak out ahead in overall top 5.

4-5. This is the gut wrenching, Heart pounding position to be. Rockwall was there last year. It’s tough to hear your name 5th and be so close. History is on Sachse side here but Heath has been solid this year and surprised many with their  BOA Prosper finish and MMI finish. On Sunday, I give the edge to Sachse….but if Heath can polish up the last minute thirty to 2 minutes of their show this week and finish as strong as they start…we could have a Rockwall ISD Rorange party on the riverwalk!

6 solid finish for Lake Highlands. The little engine that can in Richardson ISD

7-12 I think you could throw a dart at for the final 4 spots in finals! Duncanville has not beed as strong this year but something tells me they have too much pride to go away quietly.

13-21 Some really great bands in here that would likely finish higher in any other region than maybe E and J in metroplex.

22 Welcome the show Skyline!

Pretty solid list. Might switch Richardson and Berkner, but haven’t really seen Richardson show much.

Shark is Back!!! Where were you competing? Feeling pretty confident in my list but until some of the legends like @Tubalord11 , its just a list

Yeah I’d agree, at least who you have in finals. Maybe D-ville will be a little higher? It’s so hard to tell bc of how wacky their season has been but that’s probably what finals will or will be very close to looking like

Just saw Dvilles closer and it’s super cool! I tend to agree with a lot of the other posts in that this year just may not be their year, but that closer is special. Excited for area good luck to all the participating bands!

It's so crazy to me, someone who used to compete with Duncanville from 2013-2017, knowing that they were absolutely a lock for state whenever state year rolled around, to seeing them in the bottom half of Area Finals. Same with Berkner and Rowlett. Those three along with Coppell were the Area C state bands every year without fail.

The marching arts have just evolved a lot since then. I think all those programs you mentioned are all still strong and do great things, there’s just a lot more depth in these areas now so areas are not as top heavy as they used to be.

3. Sachse

4. Rockwall

5. Heath (I think next year will be their year)

6. Berkner

7. Lake Highlands

8. Dville: pains me to put my Alma mater this low and I hope I’m wrong, but I think they’ll be fine next year once the program settles into the staff changes

9. Richardson

10. Tyler legacy, North forney, or JJ Pearce

I can see this. Rockwall and Sac are hard for me to compare because they haven’t been at a contest together (other than Region). Side by side I think I take RW. Saturday will tell.

I was having trouble with this as well. I only have Sachse above them right now due to historical trends but I wouldn’t be surprised if this were flipped

I saw Tyler Legacy at Crowley, other schools on this list beat them in some captions at that competition. What is setting them apart so high for you?

Had them at several different places before settling there. Just the progression of their show has them trending up. I think a lot will  come down to who they are performing around.

I mostly agree with this list but I could see Heath beating Rockwall. I also think Pearce beats Richardson, but I haven't seen Richardson show this year so I could be very wrong

Not impossible but I think Heath has a better shot of catching Sac!

Fair, I feel like 9 and 10 spots could see something crazy happen there

No snark intended here. My bias is in my name! My rooting interest is both RW and RHHS advancing to state and heck of a party on the Riverwalk.

That all spoken, where do you see Heath passing Rockwall this year? They attended 3 contest together this year and Rockwall was several spots ahead at each of those contest. What do you think RHHS would need to do to make the jump at Area?

Here is my final prediction for 6A Area C! I will be there next weekend for both prelims and finals!

1. Waxahachie. Self-explanatory. They did lose visual to SGP this past weekend, but otherwise, I haven't seen anything that wouldn't make them the clear winner. They aren't losing it this time.

2. Forney. If design was judged at area, this would be self-explanatory. Even then, I do think they excel on the more finer things compared to the bands below them.

3. Sachse. Call me crazy, but a clean run of this show could potentially make noise at the top - remember last year. Definitely not as strong as last year, but they are one of the most consistent bands in the area across the board; they do everything really well.

4. Rockwall. Unlike the Cowboys, it's actually their year. After a surprise appearance in 2018, Rockwall has slowly built themselves up, and is now one of the best in the area. After a few years hanging on the state bubble, they are ready to be a consistent state qualifier (although, if not for Region 24, this would have happened already lol).

5. Rockwall-Heath. The surprise of Area C. To say they've had a meteoric rise would be an understatement. Everything has started to click for them this year. Right now, they sit just outside the state echelon for me, but if some visuals get cleaned up, we may very well be singing a different tune next week! This area DESPERATELY needs five bands advancing to state.

6. Lake Highlands. Out of all the Richardson bands this year, they have shown the most consistency. Everything they do is so polished that I wouldn't be shocked if they played spoiler.

7. Berkner. Haven't seen a lot from them this year, but they are always consistent. They scored fairly close to Sachse at BOA Dallas, so anything can happen. We shall see.

8. North Forney. Welcome to the finals echelon! They had a really strong showing last year, and now they are ready to make the move up. Very good program on the rise here!

9. J.J. Pearce. Definitely not as strong of a year for them, but that may be more of an indication of the bands around them. They were pretty comparable to North Forney at McKinney, but some inconsistent visual judging in Prelims allowed NF to make finals over them. Nevertheless, I am still confident they will be in finals here.

10. Duncanville. It just feels wrong to put them here, but they have slid down the most from this area. Both Pearce and NF had better scores in music at McKinney than Duncanville did at Birdville. They also placed below bands that they never would have a year ago. I could see them missing finals, but there's just too much history for them to go away quietly.

Now for some finals bubble bands!

Tyler Legacy is the top finals bubble band for me - I could see them sneaking in over Duncanville if the cards are dealt their way. Some other players are North Garland, Garland, Rowlett, John Horn, and Royse City.

Quality write ups!
