Popular Post Dave609 Posted October 11, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 11, 2025 Rockwall-Heath: First group out, and they sound phenomenal! Great musical showcase from them! Did notice some out of place people towards the beginning, but don't think it will effect them much. Great wall of sound as well in the slow movement! Great job to the trombone soloist! The visuals look great! The 4th movement is awesome! Overall, Amazing performance from Rockwall-Heath! Tubalord11, jazzophone, JFNDOWBFAN and 1 other 4 Quote
Popular Post Tubalord11 Posted October 11, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 11, 2025 Rockwall Heath- Ancient Embers: already such a stronger performance than last week. I really love how they continue the same music throughout the soloist like the Basson and Trombone and speaking of soloist, they were all wonderful. A little rough edges in the brass at times, but boy do the pack a punch. Visually is probably there weak point, especially in GE, but they will do phenomenal at area me thinks. Really strong start to today, amazing job Heath!! JFNDOWBFAN, jazzophone, BandDad11 and 2 others 5 Quote
OGFISD99 Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 Great start Rockwall Heath ..... brass just needs to clean it up a little... some sections are bit muddled.... I'm sure in the next couple of weeks GE and Visual will come together.. BandDad11 and JFNDOWBFAN 2 Quote
WanderingTraveler Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 Reedys opening statement sounded really strong👀 opiniondropper25 1 Quote
Popular Post Dave609 Posted October 11, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 11, 2025 Reedy: Alright, they sound super good in that 1st movement! Also, love the fact they are playing sorcerers apprentice! Sounds so good! Fantastic job to the Bassoon soloist in the beginning and to the clarinet soloist as well in movement 2 (I believe its movement 2). The mix between the saxophone solo and the rest of the band in the slow movement was so good! Great job in the circle visual, that is hard to pull off! All I can say is, I'm impressed with this show! Reedy sounds and looks phenomenal. I wouldn't be surprised if they sneak into finals here! Amazing performance Reedy HS!!!!! SharksAreCool, TrumpetLord, Tubalord11 and 1 other 4 Quote
Popular Post OGFISD99 Posted October 11, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 11, 2025 Great job Reedy.... GE/ visuals have improved since the showcase.... Brass and woodwinds sound great... they just need to sustain and finish out their phrases.... a little bit of intonation issues in their big hits but that will be taken care of by area.. they have a good chance of making state.. Popular Post Tubalord11 Posted October 11, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 11, 2025 Reedy-Midnight: This is a prime example of should make finals but might not bc of the depth of this comp. Noticed things that were better than last week right off the back. Soloist were great, musically very strong as they’ve been all year, just such a mature sound. The backfield playing by the brass during the ballad is chefs kiss. A couple of timing issues with tempo but recovered the next beat. Visually tons of GE from each section, could see the toe height from the upper section. They put on a real fight and could make the night show, amazing job Reedy Saxking, OGFISD99, Dave609 and 8 others 11 Quote
JFNDOWBFAN Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 These first two bands of the day have set the bar high. Of course, this contest has a lot of high jumpers!’so many impressive bands will be watching finals. 🤯 Tubalord11 and BandDad11 2 Quote
Dave609 Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 Whitesboro: Great chance to see them before UIL contests. They sound great, but it did feel like they lost timing for a second after the first hit. Cool to see a small school having unique uniforms that match the show theme! Marching looks good. One of the props fell down when being moved around, but good save from the 2 memebers who were able to get it back up and moving again before another prop or memeber could have hit/tripped on the prop. Overall, Great performance from Whitesboro HS Tubalord11 1 Quote
BandDad11 Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 Heath had an unusual tear in the last part, hopefully that didn’t affect their score too much 😕 Tubalord11 and JFNDOWBFAN 1 1 Quote
OGFISD99 Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 Whitesboro great job.... for a small band great sound..... marching is good... GE/Visuals are good... they just need to tighten up there movements.... Sound in areas needs to worked on .. flute soloist needs the volume turned up a bit... great performance... Tubalord11 1 Quote
Tubalord11 Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 Whitesboro-Luna: such a better show than last year. For a 3A school, it’s a pretty challenging book. Loved the brass and WW features in the start. Guard had some great flag work during the mini-ballad(?) in the 2nd movement (I think). Some good visual ge with bodywork. Hope the issue with the prop doesn’t hurt them, big ups to the students for pushing through. Lovely soloists, made a strong showing for A champs. Great job Whitesboro!! OGFISD99 1 Quote
flamingo123 Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 So far 1. reedy 2. Rockwall 3. Whitesboro Quote
Dave609 Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 Wylie: Im already a fan of this show after I heard the music they would be performing. The show idea is unique, as it hits close to home for me. Fantastic job to the bassoon soloist! The band sounds really good! Also the marching techniques and visuals look great! The slow movement is great, the saxophone solo blending in with the front ensemble sounded fantastic! Also great build up to the big hit! The woodwinds sounded great while playing Video Killed the Radio Star. That build into The Show Must Go On by Queen is SOOOO good! AMAZING JOB Wylie!!!! Tubalord11 1 Quote
OGFISD99 Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 Wylie great start.... awesome sound.... big loud in your face.... just need to work on finishing and polishing those phrases... colorguard was amazing... especially weapons rifles were on fire.. great job Wylie.. Tubalord11 1 Quote
Tubalord11 Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 Wylie-On Air: yeah that was great! I do wish they had a little more volume in their big hits, but what’s there is great. Sax soloist in the ballad is a cheat code. They play with great style, a couple moments in the brass but nothing major. Visually so impressive. Is the laydown to spell news new in the WWs? Didn’t see that last weekend, great vis ge right there. Think we will be seeing them tonight, fantastic job Wylie! Oh and the guard, Wow! Rifle line was ridiculous. also big ups to the injured marcher in the WWs for still marching, u killed all those visuals OGFISD99 and TrumpetLord 2 Quote

Dave609 Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 Commerce: I liked the unravel visual in the beginning! They sound good, but it does feel like some people are louder than others. Fantastic job to the clarinet/flute duet in the beginning as well! Great job to the Mello/Trombone duet in the slow movement. Good build up to the rest of the band as well. Good job on the visuals. I do feel spacing needs to be worked on a bit, but was not a major issue overall. The use of the same music in the opener and towards the end is interesting. Great job to the clarinet soloist on the high notes! Not easy to hit, but sounded good. Overall, nice performance from Commerce HS! Quote
Tubalord11 Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 Commerce-Unravel: Great showing from commerce! I liked the reoccurring theme between the soloists and snares throughout. Some great musical moments, some spots need more cleaning but they’re in a great spot. Just need to work on not sticking out from certain section. Visually lots of GE, that opening move with the thread was super cool, lots of movements of unraveling. My gut says they win A today, think Whitesboro takes music but I think it will be close, great job commerce OGFISD99 and TrumpetLord 2 Quote
Dave609 Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 Little Elm: Just looking at the props and first visual, I have feeling it will be a good show! Tuba duet, love to see it!!! Fantastic job on the opener! The visuals look soooo good! Cool to see someone singing! Great duet from the clarinet/singer! And The blend with the rest of the bands in the big hit of the slow movement was Fantastic! Love the eye visual! Amazing job Little Elm HS!!! Quote
OGFISD99 Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 Great job Little Elm.... y'all have really improved since Melissa..... still a little rough in some area.... colorguard had some drops here and there... but still Great job tossing 4 or 5's it looked to me.. Quote
