Westwood HS-Red:

missed everything but the ballad and a little before bc my steam cut out but what I heard I liked. Some tuning issues in the brass but Ik it’s very hot and early season so not a worry. Visually very appealing, just wish I heard more bc it sounded like some fun stuff at the start. Either way great job Westwood!

I have Belton, Krum and then Gatesville but other than that I’ve got the same

Cedar Park HS-Listen:

Classic CP right there. Musically so so good, executing at such a high level already. Soloist were phenomenal, plenty of musical contrast. Visually clean, plenty of GE in the drill. Just very strong all around, amazing job Timberwolf band

might just be me but i’m not the biggest fan of cedar park this year. they play great and there very clean but i juts feel like the show design is a little lacking up until the ballad. it might be that they were really good last year so it’s hard to live up to that. that ballad is so beautiful tho

Vista is performing the heck out of their show, which makes its disappointing to me that I feel like the design is a little lacking in substance.

But maybe it speaks to their talent that I still found myself enjoying their performance a lot 🤔

Vista Ridge HS- perfect imperfections: 

Insane. First off, the amount of visual GE is ridiculous. From the start with the right half of the arch doing visuals while the left was standing still, from certain cover downs having a member out of the form, I mean there’s just so much, oh and they sound so good as well. So much power in the sound, features were very clean. This could very much win tonight, love this show a ton. Amazing job ranger band!!!

Vista Ridge is going all in this year and that performance just shows it. Amazing from start to finish. I’m speechless, phenomenal would be an understatement for that performance amazing job for Vista.

Lake Travis HS-Les Misérables: Beyond the Page: 

Another very nice show from LT! Some nice technical moments blended with some more lyrical stuff. Very pretty ballad, trumpet solo was nails. Visually fairly clean, not my favorite of theirs but should be another good season for them, great job cavalier band!!

Leander HS-Curiouser and Curiouser:

A very fun and interesting show from Leander!! Musically I love it, lots of variety and some technical licks executed very well. Visually very nice as well. I do as y’all probably do as well have mixed feelings about the screens. Adds some nice ge for storytelling but can be distracting at times. I think if they were backfield it wouldn’t be as bad but still a cool addition. Also idk if that was a generator or what but what ever was making that loud sound the entire time needs to be fixed pls. Amazing job Leander!!!

Realistically, it's good to see another fun show. I'll probably enjoy it more when I'm not sitting so low in the stadium during finals.

Pretty impressed with Westlake! Was fond of their music last year, but so so on the show itstself, but I think the show this year has the perfect level of kitsch/camp to leave an impression, and I thought they were playing pretty dang well!

Westlake HS-Urban Jungle:

what an awesome show!! Visuals in the pre show were great, loved the member interacting with the guard. Woodwinds killing those licks in the second movement. Ballad was amazing, trombone soloist was killer. Visually some small dirt but that guard was stellar. This will be a great show to watch over the season, amazing job Westlake!!

Rouse HS-The Liminal Space:

Rouse house just brought it!!! Trumpet quartet was killer into that huge wall of sound. I love the new uniforms. Visually so good, lots of different visuals that add great GE, but I can’t get over how they sounded. So much power but so controlled. Gonna be another amazing season from them, fantastic job Rouse!!

vistas pit is so phenomenal, they play so musically, and their drumset is so locked in to the battery. no wonder they won at drip last weekend!!
