I feel like Prosper and Wylie are gonna be so close this year. Isn’t it possible for Wylie and Prosper to tie? I’m pretty sure they tied back in Area C 2023

It is, but if that were to happen, it would still only be four to state in the band with more judges, putting them ahead of the other would go to state. For example, if Wylie had three judges, putting them in forth and prosper two then Wylie would advance even if they tied.

One of the strongest areas in all of Texas, top to bottom. Sadly only four go to state and that #4 spot is going to be a dogfight. I think McKinney, Prosper, and Wylie are the front runners for that spot. Prosper and Wylies execution is amazing but I do love McKinney's show design and use of Metamorphosis. I think spot #10 goes to Rock Hill, I have not seen McKinney Boyd show this year except for at MMI which had a park and bark moment... It all goes down to Boyd's run in my opinion. Love all the bands in this area and I wish I could come out to watch this week!

Sending good vibes and hope to Braswell to lock in and grab that last state spot. It would be incredible to have a Denton ISD program advance to state for the first time since the late 80s or early 90s... when my Alma Mater showed up, split the district, and destroyed everything! 🤪

Braswell had such a beautiful ballad at the Melissa contest that I was almost moved to tears. Go B-Well!

Five judge panel definitely favors Hebron imo (no content/design). Still, it will be close. Last year FloMo and Hebron had one ordinal point separating them in finals. This year, I think Marcus might spoil the party and take a judge, probably percussion, but brass or woodwind isn’t out of the question. I think that will end up being the difference here.

Yeah, I could lowkey see Marcus stealing brass or WWs with how they sounded…def the best Perc section here but their woods sound fantastic, very interested to see how this shakes out.

why are so many people are putting wylie in 4th when prosper beat them in every caption at Boa prosper, especially music and visual. Also prosper got a .5 deduction and still placed higher. someone please enlighten me.

Wylie beat Prosper in the Prelims and had a bad run due to the false start. But show wise, I personally think Wylie’s show is very creative and cool. I do wonder how they are gonna do the electronic voiceovers at UIL since it’s not allowed

Guessing Wylie has a plan for this. Does bring up a good question, how many bands have things they have saved for Area. 🤔

They probably just don't use them to be honest, its not integral and the sheets don't really emphasize the use of electronics itself, more or less the appropriateness.

What do you guys think about these two schools, regardless of what you personally think. Who is really cleaner and stronger. If I remember correctly, both of them did not preform their full show at BOA Prosper. Although Wylie did beat them in prelims, Prosper went on to place higher in finals. I do feel that if Wylie even had a better start, Prosper would have still come out on top.

In prelims Wylie was ahead of prosper but in finals Wylie had a false start lowering their score quite a bit. And last year was the only year prosper had beaten Wylie at the area level since the creation of area J

I got the feeling not a whole lot of people knew about the NFHS livestreaming some of these so I went ahead and shared the information on the band socials I run. It's awesome that all of us out of state, get to watch😄

Wasn’t last year the first year of Area J’s existence?
