This varies dramatically based on where in Frisco you live. Panther Creek's numbers will be increasing for the foreseeable future as The Fields development continues to grow.

Good news is though, depending on 5A retention (Which I know some will be moving up), maybe Area B will start sending 5 bands to state in 5A

as of right now, wakeland is on the cusp, walnut grove and Mckinney North should be moving up

They reported an enrollment of 1,352, which is above the current 5A/4A cutoff number (1,315), and given the decrease in enrollment across the state, cutoffs will be lowered to accommodate the large amount of schools falling below the 6A cutoff.

Surprised this went under the radar, Davenport's director since the school opened moved schools after last year, meaning even with a new director they managed to improve. Huge congrats to them and to all the bands who competed today!

i dont remember their exact number but from what I remember they're on the bubble for 5a aswell, assuming the cutoff goes down, they should be in 5a

Tbh I don’t know if we are or not u need 1315 we have like 1248 but they said there lowering it so idk now

Congrats to everyone on an insanely good finals.  So much variety, entertainment, and excellence on display.  Caught Celinas finals run after I was free.......wow.   Insanely good.  I'm sure the rest of the top was impressive but only caught them.  They made some insanely hard stuff look and sound like a cakewalk.  PRISTINE. The quality in this class since Covid only continued to skyrocket this year.

I was only able to watch the later half of finals and only caught a few bands in the first half. I have just a few comments. 

North Lamar - I was really rooting for a top 5 finish, but you guys are definitely onwards and upwards! Visually this show was stellar. 

China Spring - your closer was amazing. It gave me chills. You guys have a lot of power and can overplay, but you showed just enough restraint to play with beautiful, powerful sound. It’s the best I’ve ever heard you play and I’ve been watching you guys since the military years. I honestly thought you were going to flip with PC. 

Davenport - stealing percussion form Calallen and content from celina is quite the accomplishment! You all have such a lovely presence on the field. Very happy for you all!

Celina - holy smokes. What a rich, colorful sound. You have some of the best woodwinds I have ever heard. Happy for you guys ending your run in 4a with one last win. Also happy to see you guys get the visual sweep because I’ve always felt like you deserved it. I don’t know if you all were listening but the DM said they have over 70 freshmen in the band. Those sounds produced with players that young is remarkable!!
 

im sure I had more to say last night, but it’s all slipped out of my old brain.

 

Congrats to everyone. The talent in 4A runs deep!

Gonna be some huge changes, I think I saw something that someone posted that 5-6 of the Final 4A Bands based on current projections will move up to 5A.

I really think right now it's only Celina and Panther Creek.  I've seen some new projections of the cutoff being 1,290.  So Sulphur Springs would stay and West Plains would stay.   Davenport would maybe stay.  And we gain for sure Kaufman and maybe El Paso Hanks who would be instant finalist contenders.

Celina's been on a generational run in 4A these past 4 years, congrats on another state championship. I'm so excited to see what they can do in 5A!

I know 4A is the smallest division and I've heard rumblings that they may lower 3A 20-30 to send a few 3A's Up to 4
