Popular Post Tubalord11 Posted November 6, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 6, 2024 SACHSE!!! Congratulations to Sachse, Waxahachie, Forney and Duncanville on advancing to state!! Absolutely heart-broken for those kids at Rockwall, I really wish they could have taken 5, but it's just how these comps be sometimes. And to Sachse, wow, if they get one of the good slots, they could place very well.....maybe finals? Idk, but either way congratulations to everyone who competed here today!! Hachie was in 1st for prelims. Dville & Sachse were 2 & 3. Honestly, I felt like Hachie's run tonight wasn't as good as this morning. I think the right 4 bands advanced, but it will be a bloodbath to crack finals this year! Quote

Duncanville definitely has the right recipe for success in this competition. Even as far as pulling off 1st place. Rockwall can be a high contender for advancing to state. Although, I believe they’ll place just below advancing to state. At least I got one correct theory in Rockwall placing just below advancing to state lol. I couldn’t be more wrong in my other predictions! So sad Duncanville couldn’t pull off 2nd or 3rd. Quote
Popular Post clarinetistkai05 Posted November 6, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 6, 2024 Forney, I do not even know where to begin. I am so so proud of you guys. Although, I sometimes wish I was still there, I know the current members are taking care of the band and carrying on the legacy last year’s seniors left behind. Seeing you guys at Bedford and the parent performance a few weeks ago made me so emotional knowing how happy I was seeing you all. I know all of the directors are going to put in the work to make sure JSR is “dome ready”. Go blow the Dome’s roof off for me, I love you guys and I’m cheering from Denton. 🫶 Your least favorite Clarinet player, Kai Tubalord11, Parkwoodmom, chasehawkins and 2 others 5 Quote
Popular Post CosmicLimbo Posted November 6, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 6, 2024 Big congrats to Forney! First year in 6A and qualifying for state. I had a feeling they’d be alright as those prelim scores seemed like outliers. Bravo 👏🏽👏🏽 lauren91, Xenon, clarinetistkai05 and 1 other 4 Quote

SaltySynth Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 I’m very interested to see scoring as soon as people get it, I’m sure it was close since all the performances were great. Quote

Daytanight22 Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Schools are already inserted into State schedule. Sachse going 1st is a tough time slot for anyone... Quote
Tubalord11 Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 And Sachse is going first at state........ Quote
CosmicLimbo Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Not a single band got more than 1 1st place in a given category. One of the visual judges almost tanked Dville 😅wild stuff Quote

Joe Pruitt is too consistent of a judge to place a group in 3rd, 4th and 21st (last) in his sub captions. Quote
TXBAND24 Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 So proud of Sachse! They left it all on their field! What a comeback year!! Sad for rockwall they gave it their all but just fell short. Tubalord11 and Maxophone 2 Quote

Dville’s score makes sense as much as I was hoping they could get a 2nd or 3rd place finish. Being tied with Sachse in prelims and Forney not having any outlier scores in finals, that 3-4 range is as reasonable as it gets and spot on with what most people predicted for them. Additionally some might disagree but I thought Dvilles morning run was slightly cleaner and more controlled similar to how Waxahachie had a better run in the morning. As far as Sachse, winning Area just to go first at state is pretty brutal. Wish there was a rule where Area champions have a better shot at more favorable time slots at state. I feel like that’d be a pretty nice perk to being Area champion. utee94 1 Quote

Although, I also believe that their morning run was ever so slightly more visually appealing. I do think Sachse being placed first above Forney in finals is surprising to me! I felt as though Sachse sacrificed musical tone for volume at times.. although it's hard to deny that their musical ability is quite good. So proud of those kiddos from both schools though. (Also, first at state... should be interesting to say the least 😅) Quote

Give the Area champion their choice of available slots already assigned to that Area throughout the sessions at State, and then all other Area participants are randomly assigned to the remaining slots.
