You have some great kids….my daughter is in 6th grade band and came out last night to see her brothers in finals. She wad sad they didn’t make state but she thought it was so cool that Berkner band kids were building each other up and talking about how proud they were to make finals. Thank you. Little Ears are always listening?

The RISD schools being lined up like ducks in a row in finals placements is really funny I'm not even gonna lie

Very happy for them, this is the first time ever they have had a district sweep in finals, plus its the first time since 2008ish since Richardson has made area finals which is a really cool step for the program.

Also, CONGRATULATIONS TO SASCHE ON GETTING 1ST!!!! They really deserved it, great job!

As someone from Rockwall. I just wanted to say one thing in this forum about them. We killed it. We absolutely killed it this season. School history was made with this show and we will keep writing history until there’s nothing left to write. As a senior who had the same thing happen to her during her freshman year (one placement off from state) it’s a bittersweet full circle. I appreciate everything this band has done for each other, some of the best community I’ve been apart of, and I may just be a random guard member to everyone in my band but in reality I am so dedicated and so invested in how this band succeeds and I can’t wait to sit back, relax, and watch the next generation of our colorguard, band, and people grow. Jacket fight never dies.

huge congrats to sachse for bringing home the gold and to forney for making it to the 6a state marching contest in their first ever year of 6a, both are incredibly huge achievements!

Super proud of all the hard working kids at this comp! I feel soooo bad for some really good bands like Garland and North Forney that had to preform earlier.. makes me wonder what the odds would've been if they were later! Nonetheless, the results don't lie. WOOHOO to Sachse! And also.. Mesquite being 16th right under north! I knew they improved but not this much! Area C never fails to surprise me!!!

Also, Rockwall Heath making 10th just broke my heart! I had so much hope for them this season!!!!! 

 

Not to mention FORNEY?? That 5-6A transition was diabolical and never seen before. What an amazing band with an AMAZING show, absolutely LOVED the clarinet solo at the end. kid killed it.

Ok, my last Area C 24 post, unless drawn back in!

Any Waxahachi people here? My 6th grader daughter was worried about the young  marcher that tripped, stumbled, and fell pushing a section of your city. My daughter audibly gasped and was worried about you. 
 

This girl bravely made it to standline? Stood with head held high despite clearly being upset and probably in pain. Finally hiding under a front ensemble piece until show over. 
 

Bless you, know that my daughter prayed for you and hopes your ok and ready for state.

I promise you those Heath kids are not upset. They shouldn’t be at least because they have just made SCHOOL HISTORY! First time in Area Finals so I wouldn’t be upset if I were them.

I haven’t seen them, but they are not useful. UIL judges use the numbers loosely just to be able to rank the bands. Some judges will take that number more seriously than others but you have no clue of each judge’s philosophy.

It was an Honour chit chatting band with you guys this season. While I’m still in denial of our final placement (John Horn) I look forward to these kids redemption tour next year. 🙌🏿
