  1. Lol at your user name... Also, they are kind of, sort of back on their way up, but they are not exactly achieving at the level they used to back from the mid 80s-2003. Not yet, at least. I think they'll probably end up lower middle pack next Tuesday.
  2. Bottom 10 Predictions...I like the way you think. haha.
  3. I think I am going to wait until at least Saturday to make any rash predictions. I don't feel like I have seen the bands or studied there shows enough to make an educated decision on how they will rank. That's my opinion.
  4. Multimeter marching! It really isn't as hard as it sounds! Not easy, but not hard. Instead of straight rhythm with your feet, you step in sort of a pattern. It is very cool to watch, and I have practiced it, but my band has never done it. I wish though!
  5. It is impossible to go through a Texas Elementary and Middle School program and not play at least a handful of his pieces. Moving around the state like I have, and in the process attending 6 different elementary/middle schools back in the early 2000's, I think I've played...say...14? haha. It's ridiculous. But he is good, as others have stated above.
  6. Heck, I'd be happy if The Colony could play HALF as loud as Winston Churchill! Seriously, some awesome stuff is happening with those kids. Best of luck to them this weekend!
  7. Ooooooooooooo!!!! Rumorssss...what school, what school?!?!?!?!?!!!!!1!!!!ONE!!!!11!!!
  8. While I completely support this idea, UIL very blatantly states it's rationale for the "Every Other Year" format on it's homepage (or at least they used to), so I think it would be quite the task to convince them otherwise.
  9. The one year I actually make plans to go and now I find out I could've just stayed at home... This is great news for Parents who can't/don't want to make the trip to San Antonio!
  10. In my Opinion, B C D/F (Hard to decide) A E G
  11. I don't think we should be minimizing the hard work of any program. I think Langham worked as hard as any other band in their area, if not more so. Saying that they did not deserve to advance is a horrible thing to say. Every kid DESERVES to march in the Alamodome on November 2nd. Yes, they might not be enjoying the same level of success and quality in their program lately, but that is probably not the kids' fault. Director changes, economic hardship, and missteps during the creative design process are what bring down a band. There is no way you can say that Langham doesn't have some kids that can play...they were the State Honor Band just a couple years ago. I didn't attend Area E yesterday, but something tells me they probably put on a fantastic show and you guys are just bitter because they outplaced "Band x" that you either attend or support.
  12. You must either be VERY good or REALLY BAD. haha. Such a potential for majorly out of tune chords....
  13. NO NO NO. They.got third with.the ordinal score of 19!
  14. *Taco Tuba. I always wondered if those kids (were they from the Woodlands...?) had to pay for the tubas....haha. I had almost forgotten about this one...2002 was a long time ago!
  15. Just because you're a realist you don't have to be mean, ya know.... sheesh!
  16. Hopefully I'll be there!!! Can't wait to see all the FANTASTIC bands. One of the perks of living around Dallas
  17. What are the chances of Cedar Park moving back up to 5A in a couple of years...?
  18. Can't say that I like them, but Reagan seems to back on their way up. The playing field is getting wayyyy too crowded with "good" bands. I like being able to predict finals. I know someone is going to say something like "it is exciting and variety is good" but I feel bad for all the bands who are so used to making finals and might not anymore. Must suck.
