  1. I've seen his name popping up over and over, especially in the middle school selections. And also in some arrangements of christmas pieces. Anyone know much about him?
  2. Does anyone have the finals performance for Hendrickson? Normally we watch the vids but our director didn't want us to ruin the memory by nitpicking it, and the show was over with he wanted us to remember the season, not the direct performance.
  3. I'm from Hendrickson, and we were so happy to have made it so far and placed so high. Every band we managed to see were amazing and it was a huge honor to compete with them. Also, Dripping's show is impecable. They definitely deserved it.
  4. Paper does work for short terms. But it works really well. Discovered it a few years back and my daily ritual is folding a piece of paper up before warmup. The only thing to watch out for is the thickness of the paper. Too thin and it dosen't do anything, too thick and it can affect your playing, and one slip you could crack your reed.
  5. I would say a Selmer. Yamahas have not been good to me, but my trusty old Selmer is like a tank in the way of marching season. Dirt, grime, the works, and its an easy clean and fix. Yamahas are ok for concert season, but with shifted fingers I find them hard to play on for marching. Also, your mouthpiece is very important to the sound of the rest of your instrument. The worst instrument will sound tons better with a good motuhpiece. I have a Selmer C* and its fantastic. They're running at $150 to $160 depending on where you buy it from.
