Grand Nats in Texas!!!

whoops, i guess i had a fasle impression. my mistake. i agree though. i have two opinions and i think my first one out weighs the second. it's simply not fair for our bands when we clearly have superior marching band support in texas compared to many other states. im not boasting texas to be the greatest, but we're up there. -

in contradiction to my previous post: moving the BOA GN would be like moving the College World Series from Omaha. its tradition almost. its been there for years, why change it now? the RCA Dome is an outstanding venue to hold such an event of this magnitude. Texas bands have won year after year. distance has not been an obsticle for these great bands to compete. -

It would be too ideal. it would give bands all over the nation equal oppertunities to make appearances and enjoy the expirience of Grand Nationals. but the wont happen and only the richest bands that arnt a skip and a hop away from RCA dome will be able to go. there's a problem with that when the one of the best marching band states is only sending 3 bands compared to others that are sending 9 and 10+. moving the location of GN would be a good idea to say the least. -

congrats to all tx schools placing in the top ten... really cool. -
New Rule, once a topic is started, lets not make 3 other topic about the same thing. For example: there are approx. 3 or 4 4A marching contest, BOA SA topics and others that escape me at the moment... a different title doesnt make it a different topic. does anyone else see this happening? or is it just me.

i dont think churchill lovers will like it so much when they hear that they got 5th... i was sitting by a whole bunch of people that heard their placement and it was a mix of confusion and awe. exp: "whaaaa???" "woooah!" "oooooo" "ooouch" so as you can see, the vowels of the reactions were very elongated for dramatic effect. so yeah, that was interesting. i personally liked their show. very churchillesque. -

BOA SR SA!!!

right, even though you have the same directors for certain areas, it is not the director that performs the show. an entire class is lost however. so it is a completely different band. new people, new leaders, and most importantly a new attitude to a fresh start. nowhere near the exact same thing. if this were true then the greatest bands would stay great and the not so great would be s.o.l... Cedar park has gone from a solid 4A band to a 5A powerhouse in 3 years. there is no sameness in that. Hence, arguement: validated. -

agreed. you cannot base judgements on the previous year(s). i am not a huge fan of layers or new rythmics so i dont think that their show is on my list of top shows i am eager to see. but yes, i agree, it should be interesting to see how they incorperate 4:33 in there... -
As you may know the Blue Coats have a new addition to the percussion team. Bret Kuhn. The duo that of Kuhn and McIntosh is unimaginable. Two huge names on the same staff. I see a great year for the Blue Coats. Jim Casella has been named the Cavaliers

HECK YEAH FAMILY GUY!!! in my opinion, the funniest cartoon on tv. southpark is just stupid.

agreed, RR's drumline was awesome. but if they had more people in their drumline then it would have less impressive. that is one of the things i liked about RR's drumline. they kept it small yet still produced the sound need from the battery section. cedar park's drumline on the other hand had the same volume, more people, less clarity. it also veries on the size of band so that may have been the reasoning behind CP's 7 man snareline.
