Is Having A Girlfriend/Boyfriend Overrated?
Lustra.exe replied to Aegis Fang's topic in General Off-Topic
but when that ends, because it will, it'll be world of drama... and the thing about high school is that you won't be able to settle it privately. everyone gets involved creating more drama. -

Whats the best section...
Lustra.exe replied to TRtrumpet's topic in Everything Music: Marching, Concert, Auditions and more
Yeah... That makes no sense. If you are going to separate mallets, then you must separte the drumline and/or the snares, tenors, basses, ect... I suppose we can assume, for the sake of this poll, that "percussion" means drumline and "mallets" means pit/"front ensemble". -

Does a show need a slow movement?

Does a show need a slow movement?
Lustra.exe replied to MartinHorn's topic in Drill Writers, Arrangers, and Composers Corner
This year the group 'Surround Sound' did a show (winter drumline) that had no slow breaks and the show package was just as effective. This being said, I realize it is a drumline show and not a marching band show. But the topic does not specify so I thought I would add that in. As for marching band, I do believe a slow movement is needed. However, my feelings for that are neither strong nor adamant. I simply think it would tire the crowd more if it was nonstop fast paced music. -
how about gran nats

First of all, I am glad to see the positive feedback. Thank you for your continued support. Personally, I am thrilled to be apart of the first 4A band from Texas to be competing at Grand Nationals come November. It could have been any other 4A band and I would be just as proud of them to represent Texas as much as Connally hopes to do. I think that what has been set before our band is a big step and will be something great for our program no matter the outcome. Of course, we hope to do well and possibly give other big name/5A schools a "run for their money" as titancoaster so brilliantly put, but I also realize that BOA is blind to UIL divisions and that we are now competing at the same level. what song is stuck in your head right now?
Lustra.exe replied to stewiemylove's topic in General Off-Topic
"my hump" - black eyed peas jesus, i dedicated an entire post ranting about how stupid that song is... i basically demoted it as a song and deemed it "music with words". i think i even said that the devil wrote, composed, and arranged it too. yet everytime it comes on the radio, i turn it up. i hate that. -
has anyone noticed that the "off topic" subjects..
Lustra.exe replied to stewiemylove's topic in General Off-Topic
yeah, but what is really funny is this. think about weither or not this topic has to do with band... does it? i mean, we're using the word band in it. but in fact, this is just a topic about what we talk about and how even in the off topics we talk about the topic... and how we're all nerds. look at us! we are talking about NOT talking about band. amazing. -
anyone doing winter drumline? who is this years competition?
