I love the Stephen F. Austin drumline because they have Ralph Hardimon as a "tech". Imagine that? A legend drops by your rehearsal from time to time and shows you how to become a better percussionist. Absolutely amazing. Clear Brook has a great line and I wish they would feature them more often in their shows. Westfield has an awesome line this past year. Their show definitely featured them well. Churchill's drumline should be back to form this coming season. There was some.....unpleasantness with their previous instructor in 2005, which lead to the line not having rehearsal for most of the Summer. Fortunately, Jim Ragsdale (Percussion Tech for The Cavaliers) came to the rescue and has done a fantastic job so far. Plus, they'll have a consultant or two coming in this season to make sure they have the best product possible.

At TMEA, I only saw two bands signed up for the Fall Preview Experience in McAllen. I hope more attend than that. I guess BOA felt that FOUR regionals for one State was just too much. Scheduling was definitely a problem because the regional fell along the same date as another Texas regional.

Hahah. Keep in mind that this is just a list of who is GOING, not a list of who might make Finals. That's a whooooooooooole nother discussion, which I'm sure will take up at least 20 pages =)

I'm pretty sure Lawrence Central wasn't planning on going to Grand Nationals, unless they changed their mind.

SCV 1989 getting the most votes on the first DCI Classic Countdown, and the highest score at the time in DCI History, was no accident. New World Symphony was an amazing show. I love every minute of it BUT, the Vanguard 1989 show hits you on a little more of an emotional level.
