For me, tubas all the way. Granted, I am the section leader and will therefore be biased in their/our favor, but really, we work hard. Harder than most, so, my vote goes to the big bad T. -

Mr. P just tells us that we're in Hawaii or something. If it rains, it's liquid sunshine. But what keeps me going is the thought that over the summer, guys spend countless hours in that same sun to put on what is my ultimate dream: sweet drum corps shows. -
Amen to that.

Thanks for all the information. I can see where you're coming from, in terms of being "dissed" by Carmel, but I must commend you on being so open-minded. Again, thanks, and perhaps I'll talk to you all again soon, if we can re-ignite the flame this thread started with. -

While I'm pretty flattered that Carmel came down here to see how marching band was done in Texas, is it accurate to say that only seeing one school shows us how marching band is done in other parts of the country? I only ask because Carmel seems to be such a force in their own area, are there any bands in their region/area that offer them any competition? -

Can anyone confirm or deny this? I'm not exactly sure where my compatriot got his information, but let me tell ya, I was awfully excited to be the first 4A from Texas to hit up GN. And if not, second isn't a bad place, either. -

Hey, just someone from Connally High School here, and while can't offer any insight as to which regional we're attending, I'd think that we'd hit up at least one regional before GN... right? I hope so. -

Does a show need a slow movement?

Maybe I'm going to be a bit out of the box here, but bear with me. I feel there probably needs to be a slow part of a show, but if it -
Thomas, watch your language. You're still a representative of Connally Band on this forum. Uphold the standards the past has set for you.

Hey everyone! Sorry for my long absence from the forums, but with a robbery the day of UIL State this year (including the loss of my computer), I've been in limbo for a bit. However, on behalf of the Connally Band, I'd like to thank everyone for their supporting our decision to compete at Grand Nationals in 2006. It certainly is a big move for our band (considering we've only just made State finals our past two runs and never even attempted the Super Regional), but I think it will definitely give us a good deal of experience. If Danpod is right about the Texas schools attending, a whopping eight schools will be attending, setting a new record! Like titancoaster was saying (sad to say this guy is in my band and I don't know who he is on the forums right now), we're looking to stay on a level equal to the 5A schools we'll be seeing, and we are getting new uniforms, although pictures, descriptions, and the related like are all under wraps as the design process is still happening. Lastly, although I know what Mr. Portillo told us the show would be, I wouldn't be surprised if the theme or title changes, so I will also keep that secret, but I'll leave you with this one hint: it's about us. Thanks for your support, again! -

Oh, if you do anything, do Contrapunctus IX. My friends and myself got that about three weeks before S & E last year, and we still got a 1. I'm not saying it's really easy, but man, it is a total blast to play. The last chord... ::drool:: -

Shepherd's Hey by Grainger It looks like it'll be crazy challenging and fun. By the way, it's been a while since I've been on the site (haven't been able to design graphics since I had some... computer troubles), but the site is shaping up to be something awesome! How's everyone else doing/feeling about the site's improvements? -
Yeah, that was a doozy.
