Man, not a lot of love for Bloo, I see. I guess that's how it crumbles when you have one season outta the top 6. And I just felt I had to say it, for all the people who loved Crown's hornline, that's cool, because I'll agree, they sounded good, but if you look at scoring throughout the season, check who had more first place brass finishes. EDIT: Just because Bloo was 7th last year at Finals doesn't mean they'll be 7th at Finals every year. Fin.

Yeah, sorry, I should have been more clear. I know how the system works, I was reiterating the sentiment that we don't know what specific judges are looking for. And yes, 5th out of 10 is nothing to be ashamed of. It's better than 7th out of 12 (for those of you that know what I'm talking about ).

Everyone knows that band can play. Fourth in the State for the 4A Honor Band competition last year, that school has consistently had a very mature sound, even when that school had just opened. However, I can second the notion that some of their visual ensemble moments weren't as clean as they would have needed to be in order to contend for a medal. As for not marching as well as they coud have while not playing, I'm not sure how the judges here judged visual, but one thing I learned over the summer is that it's easy to get deducted from when you aren't marching as well as you could have when that's all you need to concentrate on. I think that's what you were saying up there, too.

I think Crossmen will be up there along with the Bluecoats and any other sure-fire corps, but I strongly disagree with them winning it all in three years.

Just something I read on the Bluecoats forums, and I suppose it's probably not dead on, but the show would mainly feature "Take The A Train" by Strayhorn and turned into a signature hit by Ellington, and they'd say "Take The A" for short, hence a taken A. However that doesn't really tie in with a criminal, though. Unless the criminal is an alphabet thief/subway train robber?

Ha... Texas/Fight was the Connally Band. We had to show our support for the Texas bands that made Finals, right?

Congrats to all the other Texas bands that made Semis! It's pretty awesome for all six of us to have advanced. We're really excited to get the chance to perform again and if all goes well, maybe we'll get another chance besides Semis. ::crosses fingers:: If not, that's ok too, as I'll take being the first 4A to make Semis and be happy with that. To you 5A guys: Rock it.

You forget that six Texas bands are going (Connally included). I'm not saying we'll even make Finals, but we've made it thus far to Semis.
