  1. Alright......here's what I think is going down: Area A: Azle Fossil Ridge Plainview Alternate: Saginaw Area B: Aledo Centennial The Colony Sherman Alternate: Birdville Area C: Poteet Waxahachie Alternate: Highland Park Area D: Dripping Springs Hendrickson New Braunfels Steele Alternate: Connally Area E: Brenham Foster Alternate: Waller Area F: Dickinson Friendswood Little Cypress-Mauriceville Alternate: Santa Fe Area G: Calallen Gregory-Portland King Roma Alternate: Floresville
  2. I agree with pretty much everything, but I expect Azle to be a finalist and state contender in Area A. They seem to have performed very well so far this season, placing ahead of Birdville at the Aledo competition. I'm still mad about the Area C situation that emerged today. If there are 19 first division bands in an area, then three should get to advance to state regardless of who shows up to area.
  3. Bad news for Area C. Pine Tree has pulled out so only 2 bands will advance. I have no idea why all the military bands are revolting against UIL but this is ridiculous. 19 bands in this area made a first division, but now only two advance to state........
  4. Region 9 4A: Caney Creek - 2 Huntsville - 1 Montgomery- 1 Willis - 1 Looks like Area F is taking 3 bands......
  5. Saginaw and Azle are in Area A. Saginaw seems to have come out of nowhere, but I really think they're going to make it to state this year, especially since Area A has 4 slots.
  6. I'll probably make a new set of predictions for all areas after we get the final word on Area D tonight.
  7. I just received word that Area G will be sending 4 bands.
  8. When the schedules for each area are posted. I only know Hallsville, Nacogdoches, and Whitehouse aren't competing in Area C because they are not on the Area C schedule despite making a "1" at region. It's actually pretty common in Region 21. I really don't think you have anything to worry about in Area B, but we'll find out after Region 5 competes.
  9. 15 bands at area = 3 bands at state. I think that is also true for having area finals. Right now it looks like Area F will send three bands to state and hold finals.
  10. They certainly did. Note to self: Do not try to make comprehensive lists in the wee hours of the morning.
  11. Here's the draw order from the region 7 website: http://www.uilforms.com/regions/7/4A%20Dra...0order%2007.htm Arlington Heights is at the bottom of the list. Maybe they registered late for region?
  12. Ok, the results sheet I have Region 26 doesn't have a classification listed next to Marble Falls. So they are 4A? Keep the corrections coming, everyone. It's pretty clear that my info was not 100% complete.
  13. Well, all the bands who marched yesterday have until tomorrow to withdraw from area competition. Three bands from Region 21 have already done that. I don't see that happening with any of the Area B bands, but it is possible, which is why I said Area B will *probably* advance 4 bands.
  14. Thanks for the heads up on Killeen. And Drillz, you are right about 4 bands from Area B. I forgot to fix that last night. I still haven't heard anything from Regions 11, 14, or 28. Any word? Here is the tentative prelims schedule for Area C: 12:00 Waxahachie 12:15 West Mesquite 12:30 Poteet 12:45 Sulphur Springs 1:00 Thomas Jefferson 1:15 North Lamar 1:30 BREAK 2:00 Henderson 2:15 Jacksonville 2:30 Lindale 2:45 Highland Park 3:00 Pine Tree 3:15 BREAK 3:30 Rockwall Heath 3:45 Ennis 4:00 Midlothian 4:15 J. 15. Aha! The list I had from Region 7 had Western Hills continued on the next page. Silly mistake on my part. Carry on with the celebration.
  16. I only count 19 (including Birdville and Seguin).........
  17. I'm going to assume they're advancing. Any word on this?) Region 28: Edcouch-Elsa Welasco East
  18. And to top that off, Sherman is also playing some of the same music as Poteet. Freaky.
  19. Only one region in Area D has held a contest thus far. We'll know the number on Saturday.
  20. I am sure it is true. In fact, it has already been applied this season in Region 13: http://www.uil.utexas.edu/policy/constitut...8sec1105_07.pdf
  21. Here's what we have for every area so far: Area A Region 1: Pampa Dumas Randall Palo Duro Hereford Caprock Regions 2, 6, 16, and 22 compete on Saturday Area B Region 25: Sherman McKinney North McKinney Boyd Regions 7 and 24 compete on Saturday. Region 5 competes on Tuesday. Area C Region 3: Poteet J. J. Pearce Rockwall Heath Forney West Mesquite Region 4: Pine Tree North Lamar Sulpher Springs Region 20: Waxahachie Highland Park Midlothian Ennis Thomas Jefferson Region 21 competes on Saturday Area D Region 18: Lockhart Dripping Springs McCallum Lehman Connally Hendrickson Hays LBJ Regions 8, 12, and 26 compete on Saturday Area E Region 13: Foster Terry Region 27 competes on Saturday and Region 23 competes on Tuesday. Area F Region 17: Santa Fe Dickinson Friendswood Regions 10 and 19 compete on Saturday. Region 9 competes on Tuesday. Area G All regions perform on Saturday.
  22. Area C bands advancing so far: Region 3: Poteet J. J. Pearce Rockwall Heath Forney West Mesquite Region 4: Pine Tree North Lamar Sulpher Springs Region 20: Waxahachie Highland Park Midlothian Ennis Thomas Jefferson Region 21 goes on Saturday. Because each region is required to send two bands regardless of ratings, Area C will have enough bands for three to advance to state. I don't think there are even enough bands in Region 21 to up that count to four should they all make a first division (which they probably won't.) PS: I am absolutely ecstatic for West Mesquite!!! They haven't advanced to area in ages. I will definitely be at area supporting both MISD schools!
  23. I know! I can't get over Poteet and Sherman not being in the same region/area anymore! Poteet and Sherman were at every single contest together my senior year. I pretty much had Sherman's show memorized after seeing it a good half dozen times. I think the only time I missed it was at Plano East when we performed after Sherman in prelims and finals. Anyway, this new arrangement is absolutely bizarre. It kind of breaks up one of the funnest 4A rivalries.
  24. If anyone is interested, Region 3 1A, 2A, and 4A perform tomorrow night at Mesquite Memorial Stadium (the same place Area C Marching Contest always takes place.) Schedule: 4:15 Cross Roads (1A) 4:30 Fruitvale (1A) 4:45 Caddo Mills (2A) 5:00 Grand Saline (2A) 5:15 Malakoff (2A) 5:30 Edgewood (2A) 5:45 ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS 6:45 Greenville (4A) 7:00 Forney (4A) 7:15 Poteet (4A) 7:30 Rockwall Heath (4A) 7:45 J. 25. I'm not quite sure how to respond to that.........but keep in mind that Friendswood came in second in 4A at Lone Star to Hendrickson, who is probably the front runner to win the whole thing at this point in time. I really can't see Friendswood not advancing to state marching contest. I'm glad you have confidence in your band this year. Let the performance speak for itself at region and area.
