  1. and this band would be?
  2. Actually, they're 5A. but I agree 10000000000000000% percent with everything else on the post. lol. Their show was quite worth the watch this year.
  3. ahh the Triangles. yes, there were quite a few of those there. =]
  4. I know. I guess I meant like full... I can't really get an accurate word, because Hendrickson and Connally both had full sounds... it was just more controlled I guess? but that makes it seem like Poteet's sound was out of control and it wasn't... I can't explain the thoughts in my head right now. sorry.
  5. well, it was an enjoyable experience none the less. I"m just glad we went.
  6. yah. we almost fell apart in the first movement. sets 1 through 12 for us was... scary. yup. after that it wasn't that bad... at least not 23RD place bad.
  7. well if the last two are marching, then our results are a little off... Actually, more than a little. 9th and 20th??? they obviously had VERY opposing ideas. Mr. Kent seemed to like us as far as music goes. 11th place isn't too bad. I think the lower scores on music come simply off of our size and the difficulty our size causes for us to actually make noise in the Alamodome.
  8. Sorry, but I am not in agreement with the finals placements. Hendrickson, you guys completely pulled it out of the hat. Loved it, loved you, and I really was praying you would take it. I saw you, Poteet, Connally, Vista Ridge and Dripping Springs, and out of those 5, I can feel comfortable in saying that it was a very close call between Connally and Hendrickson as far as top from Area D, but I feel like those two both topped Poteet. I think what may have gotten to you was just Poteet's volume. They played really well and really extremely loud. While Hendrickson and Connally lacked the volume Poteet had, I think their musical clarity AT LEAST matched that of Poteet. I don't know. I was really shocked at the results. But congrats to everybody anyways!!
  9. his band played after us during prelims. I saw you while we were taking pictures!
  10. true, but I just hate having to be such a jerk.
  11. haha, last year towards the end of the season we had AT LEAST one flute player going home everyday in tears because we'd hafta get onto them so much. but they did get better that way.
  12. oddly enough, my grades actually drop dramatically once marching season is over. I have no idea how that works out.
  13. so you know the whole "hey band" thing... well, if you are a saxophone player and you go over to The Colony and they find out your a sax player, they give you this really awesome salute. It's very random, but entertaining.
  14. well, they'll listen to my partner leader, but they won't listen to me. Odd, because last year, the section generally didn't listen to our Senior leader, but they listened to me. it somehow became really mixed up. I'd try to create that nice feeling in my section, but that didn't really work out to well last year. All the leaders who have been in charge of the flutes have agreed that the only way they will respond is by getting in their face, which is rather disappointing.
  15. Yah, I've tried to be the jerk, but I just get to much resistance and it's not worth the fight.
  16. I try to do the whole "get together" section thing, but my section refuses to come. They are to busy socializing. =[
  17. she saw me and told me good luck, but I was too mad to say hi. =[ sorry! and apparently I'm loved. yay!
  18. he also quoted 300 in his speech, although I don't know if he actually meant to or not. towards the end he was just like "THIS IS PLANO!" with the same pauses and emphasis like the movie had. it was pretty sweet.
  19. Well, I'm getting off for the day, and since I won't be back on until after state, best of luck to all 25 bands who will be there. Don't hold ANYTHING back.
  20. I actually must say that Plano Seniors pre finals speech was quite invigorating. I know that your director at Timberview expects THE BEST (or at least that's what it seemed) but Plano's director was all about THEIR best. He had them take a quick poll at their warm up about whether they were ashamed of their placement (and the majority voted yes, they were) then he lectured at the top of his lungs into the long ranger about how he was ashamed that they were ashamed and how he was THRILLED with their performance earlier that day and no matter what ANY judge said, no matter what label was placed on them, Plano Senior's band would always perform to please themselves and the audience, and NOT to gain plastic trophies and wooden plaques. It seemed to work out REALLY well.
  21. I heard that during prelims "are you arrogant? Are you cocky? GOOD!"
  22. these judges were interesting. The percussion judge especially.
  23. Hopefully none of that happens next year. That's sad to hear about that sort of stuff going on. I don't remember seeing you though Pixel.
  24. It'd be funny to watch a Nazi try to jazz run. =]
