  1. Unless I'm missing something, what you're saying might not be true. Those rankings are listed for each school from lowest to highest to preserve judge anonymity. That being said, the judge who ranked Georgetown fourth could also be the judge who ranked CP fifth. Still, you're pretty much right. At least four of the judges ranked CP higher.
  2. Those results are nowhere near what I would have predicted. Now I really wish I could hear the tapes.
  3. We all knew Duncanville would be a shoo-in. Nice to see an upset with Coppell beating Spring. Surprise is always so much more interesting than what we predict.
  4. Based mostly on previous results, I'd also have to agree with Duncanville coming in first and Spring following. It really would be interesting, however, to see an underdog come up and take the second spot.
  5. Wow. I'm really sorry. I feel bad because we got your percussion director. As far as making this year as good as possible for you all, you'll just have to take lead. The officers and upperclassmen in your band just need to make sure things get done whether your new directors are good or bad. Who knows, maybe the new directors will be easy to adjust to. Good luck to you all. You have a great band program and I'm sure things will work out.
  6. Candy!!
  7. Sad.
  8. As far as Area D goes, four of the bands have really made an impact in the last two 5A competitions ('04 and '06). In the '04 competition, Duncanville and Spring took first and second respectively. Then, two years later with Duncanville being inelligible, Coppell took third, Spring took fifth, and Cedar Park took seventh. Those four bands alone make this area ridiculously difficult since only two of them could advance. Then, on top of all that, you add on all of the other amazing bands, you get one heck of an area. I can't wait to see the results of this one.
  9. Last year, our band went to New York City. This year, we went to Disney World. I'm not sure what our plan is for next year.
  10. But then we wouldn't know who to go nuts over like a bunch of crazy, sixteen year old girls.
  11. I hate that rule. Oh well. I love Duncanville's program. I would really like to play Symphonic Suite from the "Requiem".
  12. Nice to see my old middle school band, Wedgwood, advancing from region 7.
  13. I assume Paschal sent in a tape? Good luck to you all. Keep Fort Worth on the map.
  14. This is the competition I enjoy. Honor Band years are my favorite.
  15. We're changing percussion directors because our current one is going back to school. Also, we're hiring a third director. We have know idea who this third director is.
  16. Sounds pretty cool. As for our band, I don't care too much about what show we do. As long as we do it better than last marching season. Our arrangement was a complete disaster to begin with.
  17. We're almost definitely doing something by Key Poulan. Quite possibly Medusa but it's not set in stone.
  18. So I just realized that S&E is in a week and two days. I was thinking I had like three weeks. I need to get my solo memorized.
  19. The March is by Prokofiev. We were thinking about playing it but went with something else instead. I really like it. Good luck with honor band.
  20. Thanks, it means a lot to us. Your band was the first we heard when we went up to listen. You had our attention the second you played that first warm-up note. You all sounded great.
  21. Is it the group that was at the Bass Hall? Signs would be cool but there are better movies. I'm not sure what the music is like. I haven't seen since I started paying attention to movie music.
  22. Enigma is amazing. You all, or at least the juniors and under, are so flipping lucky.
  23. I'm not sure what contests we're going to either. All I know is that we're doing either a BOA contest or Duncanville. Other than that, I'm not sure.
  24. Both of our bands got straight ones. We're all happy.
  25. I've decided to play Concerto No. 1 by Richard Strauss for state. I'd like to play both movements but there's no way I'm memorizing five or six pages of music. So I guess I'll just stick with the first movement.
