Keller high school, Hellen/keller? they mentioned Keller, I’m SORRY I just had to make the connection.. Hellen Keller was an absolute legend.

Bands of America is proud to present, The Pearland High School Marching Band, and their 425 students that will be on the field. Their show is entitled, “how many buses do we take to football games?”

Well, those bands didn’t have 2 chances, they had one which was cut off in the middle, and had to restart already fatigued, some had to go incredibly late and were incredibly tired, and it was either restart your show after 30 minutes of having to stay focused, and “re-warm up” over and over, or it was just start where you stopped and hope the judges remember how good you were.

Oh for sure, that was what tripped me up as well, while I do think a Bridgeland 4th for music is a bit low for Bridgeland, I think a “17th” for Jordan is much more “shocking”, I mean congratulations to Bridgeland for winning the area, it’s just I wish these recaps could have been more consistent if were gonna get a prelims only round.

I don’t know if I would classify this as a bad judge scenario** per se, the rule is still gonna apply but even then.

Agreed, It sucks how ONE judge can ruin a bands chances at state or finals, when the rest of the judges had them there/or it’s more consistent across the page.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but who would’ve been a finalist between cy ranch and Katy?

Some of my personal favorite predictions, some not so much...seeing some repeats of last year with exact same bands/placements. Seeing some interesting ones for sure tho..

If were to rank most likely out of the bunch: Highest Chance of 9th/10th: Cy-Ranch and Katy 2nd Highest: Langham Creek/Parks/maybe JV 3rd highest: Springs/Paetow/waller

Preach! And I know this is unfortunate for the kids that are at our finalist schools That could have gone to state, and our state bubble groups as well as a school that has hasn’t missed state in this area before (7L). But at the very LEAST they will get to march at area Saturday and most likely march at finals. The kids at Cy-Lakes had their season end the second they walked into that band hall today; no figuring out they didn’t make finals, no knowing that prelims was likely gonna be their last run, but “we’ve been disqualified from area, our season is over.” And it really sucks in general, it’s just a sucky situation. I hope we can do the best with what we’ve got Saturday.

I really think its best to not slash or bash Cy-Lakes right now, they are probably getting messages and emails and lots of controversy from parents as well as the school district and the school itself, if they did out themselves, then they did the honorable thing like @JFNDOWBFANsaid, they are already dealing with the things that I've mentioned plus the reputation, other schools/directors that are on the bubble of state, upset students, plus they also must deal with the fact that they are responsible for a school not going to state, as well as a new area schedule. Respectfully, I don't think adding any more stress onto them is going to do any good for anybody. I would imagine the band that gets 5th won't be too happy with Cy-Lakes, so they will have to deal with this on Saturday as well. So many factors, changed schedules...all of the things, so with that said, I hope we have some great band showings and performances on saturday!!!!

anyone know how this rain affects our cy-fair state contenders and cy-fair bubble bands/Katy? wonder if the visuals will decline?
