yup, saw them i person and I was underwhelmed to say the least. Idk if it's because state is around the corner and they want to conserve themselves, but their sounds wasn't amazing or anything mindblowing. They're marching was pretty decent I'll give them that, but I don't think they're at the same caliber as state finalist bands. I do still wish them the best luck and I'll be rooting for them to get as far as possible.

after seeing krums show, I honestly don't think they make finals

Still sad Farmersville didn't make it, but honestly saw it coming. I think too many changes were made from last year's winning formula. I think I mentioned they changed show and music designer which hurt them alot. I was also shocked Paris and Community didn't make finals. I never actually saw their shows, but their names have always been correlated with area finals so I was shocked they weren't there with the rest of them.

it'll be close, but idk if Lumberton or Farmersville will Crack that 6th place. I think Farmersville got 9th in prelims so they'd have to jump 3 bands into 6th to advance. Hope for the best.

Couldn't agree more. I am from Farmersville band, and I am so happy we get prelims and finals considering were probably going to be duking it our for those last 2 spots. If it were prelims only, I'm not sure how we'd fair considering our band doesn't have the best prelims reputation. We'll make the most of tomorrow though and bring the competition as hard as we know how to.

My question for yall area J kids, do y'all just accept the fact y'all are fighting for 4th? that must be such a demoralizing environment. I can't imagine going a whole marching season with thay image in your heads. That truly is something worth praising. Props to every single one of y'all.

Absolutely fell in love with Wylie's show. I think they should've been 4th imo. And don't get me started on FlowerMounds. ABSOLUTELY beautiful show. Honestly idk how kids go to area knowing these bands are also there. I'd personally crawl up in a ball give up. Props to any kid who goes and give it their all knowing the odds aren't exactly in their favor. Coming from 4a area B, I thought that area was brutal, but DARN all these bands are basically fighting for 1 spot every single year and every single band is astonishing.

I knew it was Krum's year. Since their show in 2021, I've been rooting for them and finally they made it. Now their only challenge is chasing state finals. GOODLUCK EVERYONE

From what I know, Farmersville got 1st in prelims and Lovejoy 2nd, idk anything else.

Compared to their last show, this year they definitely are a little behind in terms of working with the audience in a sense. You have shows like Celina's, and then you have shows like Panther Creek. One serves to please the judges and one serves to please the Audience. Both shows to an amazing job, but I think Farmersville tried to, or atleast the vibe I get, mix their approach up and I'm not really sure how to approach it as of right now before heavy cleaning takes place. They can be competitive like last year, but I think they need to establish a foundation for their program. Be a crowd pleaser like PC, or be a judge Catcher like Celina. Any takes on this?
