  1. It's interesting. Without all the HUGE name bands there(well besides Marcus), this is a very hard roster to predict. It's going to be an interesting contest to say the least.
  2. Do they post the score sheets online for these contests?
  3. Dang. Mansfield's Guard is sexy. They were rockin' today. Coppell's sound was fantastic. I usually get bored with their shows(no offense, guys) but man do they sound GOOD. Hebron was very good. I didn't expect that. Nor did I expect Sachse to be in the running for 1st. I was mighty impressed. Let's hope this is foreshadow to a great season. And dang. I have to say. How hard must it be to judge bands who don't have their show finished compared to ones who do? I mean, yes you gotta judge what is there.. but I am talking about spots where nothing is going on. Doesn't standing still and everything take away from the GE?
  4. It's going to be an interesting contest. I expect some surprises.
  5. Lol.
  6. Excellent show. I am no percussionist, but I view the percussion book from that year to be one of the best I have ever heard. I still like '99 more, though.
  7. JFYI, Mansfield was 10th in Finals at BOA Arlington in '06.
  8. Lol. I use to hate waiting for placements at competitions because the announcer longated everything. Mmmmmmm-artin. Mmmmmmm-abank. Mmmmmmm-arcus. Mmmmmmm-ansfield. Lol. It sucked.
  9. Yeah. A few bands were victim to the mighty wind last year. I think Hebron and Mansfield were the two biggest ones.
  10. Great topic. Technically, it's eh. [/english&musicmajornitpicking]
  11. The Circle of Life - Elton John (The Lion King)
  12. How do you explain LD Bell? They rarely use props.
  13. Hm. Well in BOA you get points taken away from a visual score if people don't match as well with marching technique. UIL I don't really think that's a biig thing they look at. I could be wrong.. BOA judges harder, if you ask me. Then again, it depends on what kind of show you have, too. I have seen it go many ways. Sometimes, BOA shows don't do so well at UIL competitions, while UIL shows don't do very well at BOA.
  14. Lol.. and it gets to his head like crazy. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Ah. <3 DCI finals. Seeing Phantom Live. AH.
  15. Which is just fine. I think what he meant was that you guys should at least get to EXPERIENCE BOA a little, even if it means from the stands. Just because you watch it doesn't mean you become a "BOA Band."
  16. And I believe he is a DCI judge. Percussion I think.
  17. I love Bell's uniforms. I was at that game with my friend who is a guard tech at Haltom. The ending flag toss from the guard was OH SNAP. They are beautiful, but I somehow think they aren't their real costumes. They always manage to tweak them come the end of the season.
  18. Their hornline was sensational.
  19. Well yes, I do think Westlake deserved to win. And I did know it was their first time at the competition. I suppose I said what I did because I didn't want to be wrong. It's a character flaw, ya know. And yes, I do understand that. It just sucks to rarely see new bands get up there with the big dogs.
  20. Lol. All I know is LD Bell is going to be unstoppable by the end of the season with the show they are putting out on the field. It is fierce.. and as usual it will only get better.
  21. I agree. But you know, loud bands are always a treat.
  22. No no. It has nothing to do with who I would have placed where. It just seems to me that reoccuring bands at that competition seem to do better from year to year.
