  1. What immediately stood out to me was their visual proficiency. So good with maintaining the integrity and clarity of those “clock hand” formations. I LOVED how well they handled that rotating circle within the big block formation
  2. Yay! I loved Dville Duncanville just blew me away with the super high quality of their ensemble’s sound. Like WOW so full, strong and mature. That high brass fanfre in the beginning stunned me because it sounded like a pro wind ensemble. Like omg the trumpets handled their exposed technical passages throughout the show so well. It’s so cool to hear a trumpet section that comfortable in challenging passages.
  3. Oh and that high Bb in the mellos in the end blew me away! I also loved the quality of the phrase shaping in the ballad, especially the mellos with the melody😩 This is my favorite bell show in the past couple of years.
  4. Great choice! Lol omg the cleanest Bell has looked and sound all season! Bell’s show has so much depth of demand, as in they’re constantly on the move and constantly performing such impressive feats. I am always impressed by how cleanly they execute those condensing curvilinear formations into the “dot” set in the beginning, while also those exposed, moving 8th note lines throughout the brass. The music may seem rhythmically simple at first but that stuff is hard to pull off. The brass are playing exposed, independently moving parts while marching complex formations. Bell has this ability to play within themselves while still demonstrating mastery over exposed material. whew that was a mouthful lol
  5. If there’s a particular band you would like me to comment on, just ask and I will do my best to remember how their performance went lol.
  6. Lol I haven’t even seen Duncanville’s show this year and I somehow just knew it was them when they pulled up into the endzone
  7. Omg marching band is so much fun (lol) and Area B is so cool because there’s so many high quality groups here. Arlington HS did awesome!
  8. Ok I made up my mind (sort of lol) and I’m doing Area B prelims and area C finals. I’m here now for the beginning of the area b contest! So freaking excited!!! Good luck to ALL bands at area!
  9. How many bands have qualified so far for area, and are there any bands left that need to do their region contests?
  10. You are true trooper. A fight to the finish!
  11. Omg I am so excited for this Saturday! Area is one of my favorite contests of the year because of the quality of the performances, the stakes at hand, the anxiety, the DRAMA!😩 🔥 I haven’t decided on if I’m going to area b prelims then area c finals or the reverse but I’m definitely thinking about doing both again for the 3rd year in a row lol Idk if I can contain myself to just one contest!
  12. Lol it is on brand for the program to progressively climb up the rankings throughout the season and maybe giving their fans a heart attack here or there
  13. Whoa ok so Bell was 2nd in Music and Visual in finals too but they went from 1st to 5th in GE which is why they dropped to 4th. Marching band I tell ya!
  14. So Wakeland was first in music and visual in prelims but 3rd in GE which is why they were 3rd in prelims. Bell was 2nd in music and visual then 1st in GE making them 1st overall in prelims. I knew Bell was performing well this year but holy cow did not anticipate them winning prelims! 😮
  15. Well I got 1st, 3rd, and 5th-8th place right. So that’s 6/12👍🏾 And I correctly guessed the caption awards would be won via a sweep although that one felt NID to me lol
  16. CHAMPION🏆, 88.75- Wakeland!!!
  17. Outstanding General Effect- Wakeland
  18. Outstanding Visual Performance- Wakeland
  19. Outstanding Music Performance: Wakeland
