Loved that curvilinear that weaved between the block formation in the closer. It looked very well rehearsed since that’s a challenging visual to pull off

Great, big sounds overall. I’m a sucker for woodwind runs so I loved the run/feature they did in the closer! That book looking prop with the fire coming out of it was freaky 😮 lol. I thought the brass did well with the rite of spring triple tonguing feature. They sound like they’ve done a good job at refining their performance because it was very solid and clean all around, imo

All of my music classes were canceled today because a lot of people are gonna be in the marching band for the Texas Rangers parade so guess who’s watching BOA SA prelims on Box5TV🙋🏾‍♂️

I honestly don’t understand how they interpret the captions differently between BOA and UIL. Things like “range of expression” (dynamic contrast, shaping etc.), intonation, balance, technique, these are universally important criteria to judge a performance based on.

Wow Marcus was first in brass in prelims and finals. Such tremendous improvement from last year for the program! also HUGE congrats to all Finalist bands! It was a big pleasure to watch these performances online!

music ensemble is Woodwinds + Brass + Percussion. The judge is keeping in mind how well the sections play simultaneously.
