  1. No offense to my Flower Mound homers out there… I just think Hebron is untouchable! Their drill and musical selection is so effective in conveying ‘amorphous’, not to mention it’s extremely clean—so much so that the amorphous bits in the drill stand out even more. I may be proven wrong here in a few hours, but I only see a certain Leander school giving them trouble today.
  2. TWHS show has so much energy visually! Did I miss the W?
  3. Wow Westlake. I hope that gets a second run tomorrow; those are some of the best performed ripples this year.
  4. I love Flower Mound's ending--it is soooo striking visually. Not confident about podium prospects, but they should finish comfortably in top half tomorrow.
  5. I love Reagan's show, though I bet they have a visually cleaner run in them. The ending is beautiful!
  6. Don't count out Bowie, Cypress Woods, Westlake, Keller, McNeil, or LD Bell quite yet! I was a bit stunned by the omission of Bowie, Bell, and McNeil from state, though Bowie and Bell both have recent histories of less-than-stellar results at UIL area while achieving finals or near-finals results at late-season BOA. Keller hasn't missed a finals appearance at any contest in the last decade--I have a feeling 8-30 at BOA San Antonio will be surprising!
  7. Bringing this back since the contest is in 2 days with very little buzz! Is anyone going to this show?
  8. 7:00--Lake Ridge 7:15--Haltom 7:30--Trinity 7:45--Boswell 8:00--LD Bell 8:30--Timber Creek 8:45--Coppell 9:00--Keller 9:15--Southlake Carroll 9:30--Keller Central
  9. This is tough since a know a lot of schools have cancelled for Election Day. Hopefully all students are able to make it!
  10. Not the Election Day and Area crossover episode...
  11. F has military marching 6A bands that have stopped competing in area marching but still inflate the number of bands that qualify to state out of the area since they received 1s at region.
  12. I went through every confirmed schedule this morning and counted each and every band at area—no need to be petty about it! Thanks for clarifying though
  13. A - 2 bands B - 4 Bands C - 4 bands D - 5 bands E - 5 bands F - 4 bands G - 2 bands H - 4 bands I - 4 bands J - 4 bands Total - 38 bands at state (12 in finals) Last year, there were 14 bands in finals
  14. Never forgiving UIL for turning I and B into bloodbaths
  15. Yes, and then ended up bottom half at Waco. Bell and Keller have both peaked end of season last couple of years, so who knows what will happen! Being two days out and basically all 1-5 being a toss-up is wild when there are 4 spots to state. Keller, Bell, TC, and SLC all have potential to win, but I could also see any one of those groups on the outside looking in on advancement. Coppell is likely to win, though I'm not entirely convinced they have 1st completely locked down. The certainly won't miss out on advancing, though. ...And if it is prelims only, let's not forget that Keller Central was rewarded with exceptional placement in prelims 2022. Area never ceases to surprise!
  16. Yeah, this area is crazy tight this year. I'm thinking Keller and TC will secure spots 2 and 3 with how clean those programs have seemed early season. It looks like that final spot will likely come down to Bell and Carroll--might as well flip a coin!
  17. This is a bit distressing! It's coming down to them--If there was a timing penalty, we get 7 to finals and only 3 to state.
  18. Happy for Aledo! I think this is a much more accurate measure of their show than BOA Bedford was, and it’s more in line with their HEB Marching Contest placement. Excited to see how other BOA Bedford groups place at end-of-season comps!

  20. bottom 6: lone star, rockwall, ld bell, braswell, keller central, mustang top 6: southlake, bentonville, wakeland, wylie, prosper, marcus
  21. To each, their own! I feel that Liberty is going to be well rewarded in vis—individual technique was soooooo good from where I sat.
  22. Here’s what I’ve got after prelims: Marcus Wakeland LD Bell Lone Star Rock Hill Bentonville Jenks McKinney Wylie Carroll Prosper Liberty
  23. I’m not sure that I agree that Wakeland was super clean visually, but they certainly sounded incredible. Definitely a cut above most other finalist-contenders in music. Pretty confident they’ll pick up another BOA medal tonight.
