I anticipate a couple always-finalists slip out this year in favor of fresher finalists (namely Dripping Springs, MGJ, and LDB). These groups have been near finals-caliber for many years, and all 3 have the design, performance, and mid-season results to justify their bid for a finals run this year. Of course, Reagan and Keller have earned that incredible reputation built on late-season cleaning, and I should know better than to ever count them out of state finals! I could also see Westlake returning to state finals. Regardless of how it shakes out, it’s going to be close!

UIL 6A Area E 2025

Check UIL area I 2021, three way tie (for FIRST PLACE!) between Bridgeland, Cy-Woods, and Seven Lakes. Bridgeland won the tie breaker to earn what I believe was their first area championship. -

Clements making state in a notoriously hard area after getting a 1-1-2 at region is probably the most compelling story of the season. Way to go! -

I hear you but every single judge had Lake Ridge below Haltom and Boswell. I would be careful to discredit a group when they do have the results to back up their well-earned finals run! -

After LDB’s unprecedentedly close finish with Cedar Ridge, this contest feels like a three horse race for the area title between Coppell, Keller, and Bell. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised to see any of them win next weekend, and I feel like all three could be in the state finals conversation in November. Super happy to hear that 4 groups will still advance! -

Wow, could not have been closer at the top. Congratulations Cedar Ridge! These top 3 feel very reminiscent of the mid 2010s, makes me happy to see these programs continue to be so successful. Onward to area! -
I’m shocked to see 7L come all the way up to DFW for this small show. This is an incredible group of 6!

2025 BOA Bedford (Oct. 4)

I agree about Coppell, I felt they left the door open for a different group to snag a top half spot in finals tonight. They’ll certainly get two runs today though! -
Can’t talk about it on a certain other forum for risk of upsetting people from other jurisdictions…. HOWEVER Leander making it after missing BOA San Antonio finals and Prosper earning finals after missing 6A state finals confirms what we all hold to be very true Texas is where it’s at!! Congratulations to the 4 TX finalists on earning another run and a massive THANK YOU to all 6 TX bands for representing this incredible state so well on the national stage.

Southlake Carroll misses finals here with arguably their most competitive show in recent memory, after making Grand Nats finals and St. Louis finals in the last two years. Certainly nothing to be embarrassed about, just goes to show that breaking into the top 14 at this contest is a massive feat, made all the more impressive by Reagan’s 21st consecutive finals appearance.
