Can’t wait to perform in my final HS competition in just a weeks time!!

So proud of our group for 2 straight years of 1st place at this competition. I could not be happier with the results at my final UIL competition, and congratulate all the finalist bands who performed their hearts out tonight!!!

I thought it was scheduled to where the first block of bands was the bottom 5 and the last block was top 5. It could make sense this way as Aledo, CH and Azle are 3 of the final 4 bands to go.

I didn’t even hear about that accidental rating until today, when our directors told us in class. Honestly, yesterday was a run that we should have had on Saturday, as it was one of - if not the most - cleanest runs we have had this season. Especially now that all our drill is on the field. Big moral win for our group.

Can’t wait to perform with Aledo next Saturday. We’re going to have to work super hard to crack finals like last year. I love Hebron and Coppell HS’ show concepts and am super hyped to see them live!

I don’t really think our show could feasibly end up under 8 minutes if we wanted to appreciate their history in full, which is what you seem to wish. And, other bands have done something like this before. Haltom HS’ show this year, for example. This is a widespread concept that many bands use to make epic shows. And, at the end of the day, the thing that matters most is the execution of the show itself. So, I wouldn’t stress about it as much as other, more real examples of insensitivity in our society.

I’m sorry but literally no one thinks that. Ancient Egypt was a thing 3000 years ago, which is what our show is themed after. It isn’t about modern day Egypt; if it was, I could see your argument. You can take any conclusions from our show as you will, but it will take some lengthy justification to prove that hyperbolic claim.

Being in the Aledo band, I see us and Azle being neck and neck all the way. At the BISD comp, our finals scores were very close, and it will most likely be the same on Saturday. I could see Aledo going as high as second place, but that’s just my bias leaking through. Every band will be bringing their A-game and it will be fun to watch (and perform) in three days time.
