  1. Great job Forney! I love the commitment to character by everyone involved. Those giant ballad flags made for a great visual moment.
  2. They did. All of the Keller ISD schools got new uniforms this season.
  3. Still kindof floored by how good Lone Star is for being a band I had never seen before prior to prelims! They just sound so good! Certainly not the most difficult show visually, but it sure is entertaining and well designed and performed. Watch out for them at 5A State!
  4. Wonderful job Aledo! I love the ballad and that visual block after was so fun! The visual performance was really clean and impactful. I can see why they got that caption in prelims.
  5. I thought Hebron would handily take music. They did perform when it was much cooler thought. I also noticed the intonation issues with Flo Mo. I heard it with Keller too so I think the 90+ degree heat was affecting things. Flo Mo had GE on lock, no doubt.
  6. Nice to see Coppell in the top half, their show is excellent. The rest of the top half are the names you would expect! Looks like Keller jumped ahead of Wakeland and Forney after HEB. Is this Carroll’s first time making finals here (or at least recently)??
  7. Impressed with myself that I got 11/12, but I’m SHOCKED that Waxahachie didn’t make it Finalists: Flower Mound Timber Creek Southlake Carroll Coppell Aledo Marcus Keller Lone Star Wakeland Hebron Forney LD Bell
  8. Is Waxahachie AAA or AAAA?
  9. My (probably incorrect) prediction of the 12 finalists (in no particular order): Timber Creek LD Bell Marcus Flower Mound Forney Keller Lone Star Wakeland Waxahachie Hebron (I think they win prelims) Coppell Southlake Carroll -Just Out- Haltom James Martin Aledo Keller Central Centennial
  10. Ugh, I’m kindof obsessed with this Flower Mound show. It’s so weird! Having two jam out (idk what to call it lol) sections back to back was interesting. I wasn’t expecting to see the full show! I’ve definitely seen video of them giving a cleaner performance, but ima blame the heat. Still don’t know if I love the field setup (seeing band and guard members going through the front ensemble scares me lol)
  11. Hard agree. I love how the prop was used in the ballad and wish they were better utilized through the show. The prop usage in the ballad reminded me of a Flanagan World Guard show, and I wish they did more of that.
  12. I love the music Keller is playing, especially the Bach section! Typical Keller with lots of technical and difficult playing. Cool use of the prop in the ballad. Visually, the show lacks GE, and I think they have a cleaner performance in them.
  13. I’m watching online, but I was more talking about the moment visually. I could see them kindof grooving to the music and wanted them to really go for it.
  14. Waxahachie plays so well! They need to commit to that ballad jam out part so that moment really clicks. I wanna know the significance of the different people on the props.
  15. Lone Star ? I saw their small front ensemble and definitely under estimated them. Why have I never really heard of this band before?!? That was so good! I think they have a very legitimate shot at finals.
  16. Coppell - Wow, tons of props. The music is very fitting. Awesome large guard. Percussion is awesome too. Looks like the whole show is on the field. Just really really impressive all around. They always seem to get scored lower than I think they will, so hopefully that doesn’t happen this time.
  17. Awesome low brass, Centennial! Really impressive performance for their size. Super cool percussion feature.
  18. This might be the best show that Timber Creek has ever done. Loved the sax ensemble so much. Some dirt overall, but lots and lots of difficulty. When they sound good, they sound GOOD.
  19. Wakeland!! They sound awesome on the stream! Sometimes a bit lacking in visual GE for me, but that drill move that looked like moving waves was so cool. Truly impressed with their musical power. The whole show is on, and it’s not the longest show, but there are so many great moments. I wish they were going to San Antonio this year.
  20. Quite liking Carroll’s show! Very ambitious!! They had the whole show on the field at HEB, so I was hoping they would’ve done a bit more cleaning since then, but it’s hot and they have a difficult show (and it doesn’t help that all their props blew over .) They’ll do great things in St. Louis, and I hope we get to see them again tonight.
  21. The wind is taking out so many props today
  22. Haltom - Second show in a row they’ve done that’s heavily themed around another culture. I think the visual theming could’ve been more tastefully done. They sound and look pretty good, but the music sometimes gets past them, which is going to be apparent with almost any band that goes right after Marcus.
  23. Marcus - Lots of Tetris-esque props covering the field. This program is extremely well-rounded. From the guard to the percussion to the winds, every performer is so intentional with every note and movement. The ballad is stunning!!! I think they have a stronger performance in them for tonight though.
  24. LD Bell’s guard is massive this year which makes no sense to me because the band looks a bit smaller. I usually have complaints with Cartwright shows, but will Bell, I think it really works visually. All the props shape the field in a way that makes the band feel bigger than it actually is. Frankly, I was expecting a cleaner performance especially since the whole show doesn’t seem to be on the field, but it was still quite solid. The soloist in the ballad was awesome.
  25. Forney has gotten so good in the past few years. It would be cool to see them break into finals.
