Alright, so with Region happening very soon, it would be a good time to announce that in total, there is 1,029 varsity bands competing at Area this year! 39 other bands are Non-Varsity, bringing the total to 1,068 bands!

I'll be in Houston the week of Area for this group, so I'm hoping to take a trip to Sugar Land, TX to see Stephen F. Austin HS Band and Ridge Point HS Band the night before area!

I could see North Shore making state again!

China Spring had one judge place them in 3rd in music while the other 2 had them in 10th and 11th

I would have them in 6th. But could see a push to a higher placement

I would say my top 5 would be- - Cedar Creak - Taylor - Pflugerville - Shiner - Del Valle

Great performance from Del Valle! Great execution all around and really could see them within the top 5! I really, really like their Trombone/Tuba feature towards the end of the show! Great job Del Valle!

Las Cruces with Pure Imagination as the opener! Really well executed! Also have to say, they have very good sounds/tone for most of their show! Could definitely see them in the Top 5! The Ballad sounds really good to, but I feel that there needs to be some work on the trumpet's section, but still a really good job! Really enjoyed their show! Next up is Del Valle HS out of El Paso, TX

A beautiful performance from Bel Air! Really liked the ballad and hope we get to see them at the State Marching contest this year!

Alright, good performance from the Alamogordo HS Band! Some work still needs to be done with the show, but was a good performance none the less!

I'm really excited to see how Leander ISD in general does this year! Rouse beating Cedar Park and Leander in prelims was really interesting to see. I am truly excited and can't wait to see what they have in store!
