Can we just take a moment to talk about Vandegrift. The reigning 6A UIL Bronze Medalist, 2019 TMEA Honor Band and now the Grand Champion of Grand Nationals 2019. Amazing. Simply amazing. I can't wait to see what this program has in store in the future.

What is everyone's favorite show that will be performed at Grand Nationals this week? There are 91 bands competing and the Exhibition Band: Jackson State University. There are so many amazing visuals, music, and moments in each show. I can't wait!

If Vandegrift keeps on cleaning and improving from where their product is so far then they will have the chance to medal OR take home the eagle on their FIRST appearance at Grand Nationals. That is amazing

Vandegrift's novas and Vista Ridge's turning stage are still some of my favorites but Leander and the use of props in their closer has taken the #1 spot for my favorite props this season.
-
I can't believe that San Antonio is tomorrow.

I. Love. Rouse.
agreed

What is everyone's favorite show from 2019? What are your favorite parts or features from the show?
-
I’m not trying to compete with anybody’s live blog btw. Just offering another option alongside your TMC (and possibly TXB) live blogs. I mean can we ever truly get enough BAND?
no
-
Some of my favorite props so far are Vista Ridge's turning tables and their HUGE rotating stage.
-
How do you think think finals will play out?
-
We’ll see tomorrow!

Vista Ridge’s and Vandegrift’s uniforms

BOA Austin is in less than 24 hours
-
Vandegrift uploads their show to their smugmug every week by the way.
Good to know!
-
Could be Vista Ridge and Leander battling it out for 1st.
I love this particular competition so much. Other than the crazy hot days, it’s my favorite!
Yep, the top four this year are all contenders for 1st place.

My current predictions for BOA Austin:
1) CTJ/Vandegrift
2) Vandegrift/CTJ
3) Leander/Vista Ridge
4) Vista Ridge/Leander
5) Cedar Park
6) Round Rock
7) James Bowie
8) Cedar Ridge
9) Hendrickson
10) Rouse

I went to the Cedar Ridge v Vandegrift on Friday and got to see Vandy's show. Some crazy good sounds coming out of that band. I'm always impressed by the absurd amount of sound they can pump out, but I imagine having a band as massive as they do helps. Their ballad has a KILLER trombone soloist, definitely look out for him at BoA Austin. I also noticed that they were performing without Shakos. Likely just because it was a football game, but it seemed a little odd since it looked like they had the rest of their uniforms on. Didn't get to see Cedar Ridge since they had their senior night, but I've seen them plenty before this, and they're doing great things as usual.
Heard that they’re still working on getting uniforms ready for this season

Where did my comment go? Weird...
Haha sorry

Bands have started bringing out their props! What are some of the coolest ones or your favorite ones so far?
(Accidentally deleted the original topic oops)

thanks for the update - we don't get much info on Carmel - how is Avon's show looking this year - Just asking for a friend
From what I have heard, Avon is going to have an awesome show this year.

At this point, the bottom half making into finals might have to be drawn from a hat because due to the crazy amount of talent these kids have.. it’s almost unreal comparing to 2000-2010.
Especially with Vista Murrieta coming down and competing.

Yes....they're FANTASTIC! Vista Ridge is looking and sounding all DCI-like this season, and Vandegrift is putting on a gorgeous show with incredible music as always. Can't wait to see them all in one place at BOA Austin and again at LISD Festival of Bands on October 7th ( a week later than usual!).
That's great! Can't wait to see them at BOA Austin!
Vandegrift because wow

Who would have thought that Vandegrift would be performing a rock piece?!
