NFHS very much improved! I’m glad that I have been on the road and flights and I honestly haven’t missed a thing. Box 5 is still extremely terrible! Super ridiculously overpriced and extremely terrible customer service.

Well it’s not up to us to decide. The best school did win. We are not judges and we have to respect the outcome. At the end of the day the state qualifiers earned their spot. We shouldn’t make them feel as though they didn’t deserve their rightful spot in the state marching contest.

I disagree. It did happen in Area D this year. One thing I will say is we at Area G we are competitive but not as competitive as some of the other major schools. It’s not about individual funding to the schools. It is money though, when students take weekly lessons(on their own dime or parents dime) and they continue to improve as players. Ex(Hebron 23 All state players last year) It is a huge benefit to the entire ensemble. How many schools in South Texas really do that? Not many that I’ve heard of. The biggest problem that we have in Area G is pride.(I’m just as guilty of this back when I marched and Harlingen would destroy everyone)We always want our Alma mater or current school to win but that’s not always the case. We have to respect the decisions by the judges whether we agree with them or not. Music judging is completely subjective it’s not like everyone plays the exact same thing like in region contest. They are as fair as possible.

A video was circulating but it has been taken down. I’ve done the same thing just watch games halftime shows. Sometimes the audio quality isn’t that good because people are talking over the band performance. I’ve seen almost everyone from Laredo(native). I’ve seen some valley bands which have been great performances. I haven’t seen Roma and I’m always looking forward to seeing them. If anyone has a video please share it here. Please and thank you.

Random Area G question: Does anyone happen to have a video of 2002 Harlingen Band Spiral Symmetry? That has honestly been one of the best shows from our area!
