  1. Trust me I do put it down. This is just some free time I happen to have and I’m a little bored. I don’t know if you have noticed, but I have posted a lot less lately except for updates on the contest pages I started. I just like speculating and it’s intriguing to me reading through this stuff. Like I said, I’m not as attached to my phone as you may think.
  2. Can anyone predict the top half(prelims) here? That means 40ish bands.
  3. I will be there and will get to watch them from the stands, and IIRC Danpod is as well.
  4. So who is going other than Daniel and the students that are performing?
  5. It likely will. You will be able to hear us from the warm up lot though, trust me.
  6. q Same! I really hope our directors let us stay after our performance to watch y’all! Good luck!
  7. I really like the trombone etudes this year. I think they are really fun to play.
  8. Great podcast by the way, as I have said before there is just something about your voice that is just so um... soothing(?) to me.
  9. From what I can tell neisd doesn’t really have this problem. Everyone is supportive of band AND football here. When a player is injured, the stadium is SILENT (unlike one Austin school we played this year and from what I hear many others in Austin). People stay for the whole game, and don’t leave the stands during halftime. The crowd is generally respectful to the band when they are performing, but the noise that is there is understandable with somewhere around 10000 people in the stands. It’s just an all around great environment that makes me proud to be a part of NEISD.
  10. I know, it’s just starting 10 points higher than the second week of the year before seems like a lot to me. I’ve never seen a band do that. And like I stated, that info was taken from the mfa forums site.
  11. In fact here’s proof. Centerville scored a 71.2 in Toledo on 9/23/17 and a year later they score a 81.5 at Oxford on 9/22/18. Unless I’m crazy there’s no way that’s accurate. Sooo.... I think ctj just might be ahead of Carmel. *info taken from the mfa forum*
  12. I think the 84.65 that they scored in prelims was a bit inflated.

  14. Awesome! I hope you do! It would be really cool to hear some feedback from you about all of the shows!
  15. As of Sept 22nd, 2018: ADD: Marble Falls HS, Marble Falls; No schedule yet, but I’m willing to bet one will be released either this week or next week. 22 programs are listed this year. I think this will be quite a fun competition to attend this year if you have the chance!
  16. Oh awesome. Are you at any of the regionals yourself this weekend?
  17. NEISD Fall Marching Festival Heroes Stadium, San Antonio, TX Tuesday, October 2nd No scores, just judge tapes. Performance schedule is as follows: LEE HS - 7:00 pm; MacArthur HS - 7:15 pm; Roosevelt HS - 7:30 pm; Madison HS - 7:45 pm; Churchill HS - 8:00 pm; Reagan HS - 8:15 pm; Johnson HS - 8:30 pm; Hope to see you all there! Definitely going to be one awesome night for marching band, weather permitting!
  18. Oh I know about the midland one, I just thought there might be one for this regional as well.
  19. Hey can someone put up a pint to the live bleh for here if there is one?
  20. That’s actually what I’m going to school for when I graduate next year. I plan to double major in meteorology and music ed if I can, but the emphasis is on meteorology lol.
  21. Hey i just want to say if there are any band kids at Churchill on here come say to me at halftime tonight if you can. I remember y’all from last year!
  22. Why don’t we just pray that it only rains in the middle of the night from now on. It’s a compromise.ither nature can still give us our rain ale hope we get our performances. Sheesh San Antonio is on track to have the wettest month in history. We on average get only an inch and a half of rain during the month of September here, and we could end up with 20 inches before it’s all said and done.
  23. Actually, its not the hurricanes from the east, it’s the hurricanes from the southwest and trouphs(fronts) from the northwest that has done the most damage this month. That tropical system from the gulf last week was just 2 days lol. Rain chances are increasing this weekend and next week down here. We are at 70 percent on Saturday in San Antonio, and in the 50s all of next week before the cool front, and those percentages are likely to go up. I wish all those competing this weekend good luck and hope everyone stays safe out there.
