*Knock on wood* I'm just looking forward to watching without a bunch of teenagers talking the whole time like Thursday at the movie theater

ha, I had the same experience at San Antonio but they were middle aged and should know better!

It’s so much better live though. I feel like I really have already experienced the best just by having seen DCI at San Antonio a few weeks back. I will definitely watch finals on FloMarching, but it will not be the same.

Just looked further in to this. Seven Lakes has a football game vs. Memorial H.S. on 8/30 at 7:00 PM. On this calendar, it is listed as 2:00 PM. For whatever reason, the calendar on the Seven Lakes website is five hours behind. Seven Lakes is NOT having rehearsals at 2:30 AM :)

Enjoy the rest and have a great season, Spartan Band!!

haha, I knew that simply could NOT be true! But I bet some parents were fooled at first. :D

I've been working with Westwood as a tech this past week and all I can say is that the director change is not setting us back like I predicted. That being said, Westwood is out for blood and the sounds they are making at this point in the season are better than ever and the drill is more complicated than normal. Unless other schools are making similar strides, Westwood is gonna be far more of a player than any year before.

That’s awesome! I can’t wait to see them!

So to switch up the conversation a little, this year our only out of state participant is Camdenton, Missouri. They are a class AA band in BOA, finished in 3rd in AA and the 14th place finalist at St. Louis in 2017. While I don't think they will be a finalist at San Antonio, they certainly can win class AA and have a performance Saturday night. From looking at recent results, it would be between Camdenton and Southwest, and it looks fairly close. I think it is a great thing for the smaller out of state bands to come here, so we shouldn't forget about our visitors in 2018.

I'm really looking forward to seeing and hearing this band from Missouri. They made their first BOA finals just last year (in St Louis), and they are traveling to quite a few BOA competitions this fall, including San Antonio and Grand Nats. I hope they have a fantastic season and an unforgettable experience in the Alamodome!

I really hope I can meet yall this year. I hope you go to the area D marching contest at heroes stadium this year or to one of the madison football games, daniel. Speaking of football, @LeanderMomma,we have a game against James Bowie up in austin on friday, 9/7 if you happen to be up to going.

Ohhh! I will definitely keep that in mind! Are y’all coming up this fall for BOA Austin or Texas Marching Classic? The first time I fell in love with a Madison show was in 2014 at one of those two places. They started on the field laid out in a huge argyle pattern. Those orange plumes really made it quite a vision. And I remember thinking, wow that band is HUGE! :D

It was over 100 when those lines were forming. Yeah, you and I got super lucky!

Just bummed I didn’t see you or Sanchez and hug your necks! I’ll see you both in September for sure.

Hearing some reports of insanely long lines to get in to the Mesquite show tonight. It looks like an abnormally large amount of tickets had to be held at will-call because no print-at-home option was available for the tickets. The extreme heat was affecting the scanners so many people who bought tickets online had to stand in line and get their online purchase verified at the box office.

I hope it’s not 115 like it was here a couple hours ago. I’m done with this heat. And so grateful I saw this years corps indoors!
