Right now I'm 1st chair in the second band. The kid that sits next to me: 1)Does not practice 2)Does not tune, and 3)Does not care Auditions are coming up soon... Hopefully i'll move up to top band next semester.

Please don't think that bands that do this are stuck up. Some directors specifically tell their kids not to speak to other bands during that time. I doubt anyone would ignore you out of their own will. But we've gotta respect the director's wishes.

Yeah we have the poor metronome girl..and our metronome sucks so it doesn't work all the time and people blame it on her.

I don't think concert season is the death sentence everyone else thinks it is. Making music is incredible, either way. That being said, marching still pwns all.

Richland 2005 - the beautiful vocalists in "Sleep", along with the incredible saxophone solo at the end with the 4 rotating boxes! I get chills every time.

Whenever I think of jazz, i picture a shadow sillhouette of someone playing a trumpet or saxophone. I think that would look cool, with like music notes around it. Or it could look cheesy, haha I don't know.

Hahah I had the same question. I asked the BA mom next to me and she said they're painted. The socks are also half black/white. There's a mom that takes half a black sock and half a white sock and sews them together. There's some band parent dedication right there.
