  1. I think Duncanville, Coppell, and Berkner are pretty much guarantees. As for the fourth, I don't know, Rowlett or Lake Highlands maybe.
  2. Eww...I wouldn't think Taco Bell + heat + physical activity would come out very pretty.
  3. I have to agree, they are among the most friendly and non-stuck up bands out there.
  4. That seems unlikely, I think the school just opened last year.
  5. Well there's 26 bands, so it looks like 5 advance.
  6. Nah. What's the ugliest sounding instrument?
  7. One band short of sending 4! Ahh! Langham Creek, Cy Falls, Clements, SFA, how can you honestly pick only 3? I'm seriously having an emotional breakdown here. And I don't even go to any of these schools.
  8. Ourselves. Would you want to live in Europe?
  9. Because no one can resist Sprite Remix. Do you know what band that is in the picture at the top of the page?
  10. I don't know about "rigged," per se, but I do think band directors have an idea of who they want to be DM way before the auditions. It's alot easier to suck up to a band director than it is to suck up to a judge at BOA or whatever.
  11. So, reading some of the recent "JUDGE X HATED US! WE SHOULD HAVE WON OMG" posts got me thinking. People always get angry and blameful whenever contest results come out and they didn't do as well as they thought or hoped. Do you think there's more that goes on in judging than objectively scoring how a band performs at that moment? I think politics exists, no matter how much we try to turn a blind eye to it. Certain bands have reputations, certain bands don't. As far as it making a significant difference in scoring and placements at competitions, I'm not sure.
  12. Don't forget Elkins & Cy-Falls.
  13. I guess I was just disappointed at their 10th place at Galena Park, and then expected them to fire back at BOA. I'm glad to hear they're cleaner now. With only 3 potentially going from Area E, it should be very competitive between them, Langham Creek, SFA, and Clements.
  14. I agree. I don't think you could even call anyone a lock. Maybe Brazoswood.
  15. We can have it in my backyard. There's space.
  16. This is gonna be so close. There's going to be lots of very (justifiably) disappointed bands. How about we just have 2 State competitions?
  17. Hebron 2005. They filled up every space they could with visuals, which kept the show exciting. I love when bands maximize their visual GE.
  18. Oh, okay it was the same day as BOA Houston. Whoever's in 9th place must be a typo..I'm assuming Cy-Fair?
  19. Hebron 2005 "Fusion" Pearland 2004 "Fire of Eternal Glory", amazing woodwinds
  20. Why has Cypress Falls been placing lower than usual in their contests recently? I know they made finals at Houston, but what's the deal? I've heard the show/music is dirty, but they're running out of cleaning-up time.
  21. Anyone know what happened to Hendrickson? They seemed to be getting stronger last year.
  22. Anyone planning on writing a review?
  23. Did anyone attend this contest? What's the word on ClearBrook's show?
  24. The Woodlands had phenomenal music...and Hebron was INCREDIBLE. Great competition!
