If 24 advanced to Area, 4 will advance to state. It is 1 state advancement for every 5 bands that qualify for that area. newbie 1 Quote
Trombone_Guardian20 Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 If I may ask, what is everyone’s opinion on Brewer High School this year? I noticed them at I believe Birdville and thought that they could possibly pull a finals run at Area but I don’t know, anything can happen... Quote

I wouldn't be surprised to see Brewer. I believe there are 10 area finals spots and can only predict about 5 out of the 10 based off of previous competitions. Quote
aspenmoonlight Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Any last minute prediction adjustments for today or still holding steady with the above prediction? Quote

Lisajayes Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Too nervous to make predictions. Too many awesome bands! Not enough state spots that is for sure. Good luck everyone!!! Quote
gr8n8 Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 I’m so proud of Granbury! They’ve progressed so far in the past few years. And they’ve taken critique and improved on their show after each outing. Quote
ClariNate Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Chisholm Trail played a while back and it was absolutely awesome! Quote

ViewFromTheBox Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 We won’t know until after finals. They are tight lipped about that to the public at least. Quote

chesteriop Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 Compared to prelims, top 4 was very different, as predicted many things can change between prelims and finals. Can’t wait to see how these bands will do at state! Quote

Can’t wait to see how these bands will do at state! I noticed that too. Kind of heartbreaking for Granbury and Chisholm Trail who were top 4 in prelims but then 5th and 7th in finals. And 6th to 1st for Burleson Centennial....wow. But truly any of these 10 finalist bands had a shot at top 4. That extra state spot would have been nice. Just one more division 1 rating at region would have allowed that. Congratulations to all the bands. Fierce competition! Quote

El Gato_01 Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 I'm not sure if one can put too much stock into huge gaps from prelims to finals. I think the judges are more concerned with gettin the top 10 right in such a large field during the day in order to revaluate them more accurately for the night show. Quote
