  1. I think those judges had a very very tough job. So many stellar bands. I was prepared for anything last night. And a whole new judging panel today so also prepared for anything today! Kudos to ALL the bands that performed yesterday and best of luck to those that have the privilege of performing again today.
  2. It's here! Today is going to be a great day regardless of results. Top 34 bands in Texas 5A! Good luck to all these amazing kids and directors!
  3. BOA does score different than UIL so you just never know. I'm only going to make it to the finals performance (if made) so really really nervous but hopeful! I definitely think these 5A BOA San Antonio bands are some of the best but there are others not at BOA that are contenders for finals as well. My heart may not survive Monday night finals announcements.
  4. You don't have to do the $39. It's $20 for both prelims and finals. Or $12 for just one or the Other. Although I can't quite seem to find what differentiates the pro package....hmmmmm. Maybe that one is all of it. 1A, 3A, 5A
  5. From UIL site: Live StreamBOX5-TV powered by BOX5 Media has contracted with UIL to provide live streaming for the event. Link available on uil site. I watched it this way in 2017. Not too costly and nice they have this available! $12 for prelims only $20 for both prelims and finals. https://www.uiltexas.org/music/marching-band/state
  6. I noticed that too. Kind of heartbreaking for Granbury and Chisholm Trail who were top 4 in prelims but then 5th and 7th in finals. And 6th to 1st for Burleson Centennial....wow. But truly any of these 10 finalist bands had a shot at top 4. That extra state spot would have been nice. Just one more division 1 rating at region would have allowed that. Congratulations to all the bands. Fierce competition!
  7. Too nervous to make predictions. Too many awesome bands! Not enough state spots that is for sure. Good luck everyone!!!
  8. I'm not even in the loop for that area but that is just heartbreaking for those students..will be interesting to hear how that happened. I really question the logic of an automatic 2 rating. Why not just the penalty? Would they have still received a 1 with just the penalty deducted?
  9. Would have been great to have 5 spots. Seriously some great shows in Area F. But 4 is better than 3 like in 2017.. finding the positive!
  10. Actually now that the prelim recap is posted it look like Boswell then Saginaw then Legacy had the next highest 5A scores at Birdville after the four 5A finalists. It really is anybody's game.
  11. It looks like Burleson Centennial placed higher than Colleyville Heritage at the Mansfield Preview of Champions but Colleyville placed higher than Centennial at Birdville. And while Centennial placed higher than Aledo at Birdville in finals, Aledo placed higher than Centennial in Birdville prelims and at BOA DFW. And Colleyville placed Higher than Aledo at Birdville but that's the only contest they've been in together. So these 3 are neck and neck it seems. I would say these are the front runners for Area F but Birdville and probably Azle and Granbury are also in the mix. I think this should be a very good area contest! Please let there be at least 4 state spots! They are all amazing shows!
  12. Will anybody following this thread be there to post the prelim results as they are announced?
  13. I thought their show was really nice as well and that scares me a little bit because the band I'm affiliated with will be competing against them in the area contest! Ha ha. Actually I think all (12 I think) of these 5A bands in this competition are area F and will be duking it out for a state spot. Eagerly awaiting the prelim results from home and hoping to make it back for finals.
