I<3thebox
If you were in charge of your school's marching show, what would you do? Personally I think Star Wars music would be AWESOME (why hasnt anyone done star wars before? I mean people did Pirates of the Carribean) John Williams, if you really pay attnetion to his music rights GREAT stuff that could very easily be transcribed for MB. and its usually at good tempos too. not to mention the GE potential etc. what esle? Catch Me if You Can (more john williams) Lord of the Rings (can you tell I like film scores?) Firebird Suite (although I've only heard bits and pieces, besides the finale) Eric Whitacre's "Paradise Lost" - see my other thread on this thats it for now

xMonicax
My ultimate marching show would be: Profination Lincolnshire Posy - mvt 2 Jupiter Selections of Appalachian Spring I would definately watch that, I love all of those If I were to make a show I think a big brassy jazz show would be awesome, I think that'd be so much fun. Dunno what music I'd put in it though

Not exactly the same, just the same sorts of themes and such.
Keyboard_Countessa
KEY POULAN'S ARRANGEMENT OF FIREBIRD SUITE!!! Ever since I played an excerpt from Firebird Suite in 8th grade Symphonic Orchestra, it's been one of my favorite pieces of classical music. Skippy
Please tell me you are kidding... the pieces are almost polar opposites of each other! Haha, exactly what I was thinking. Medea = Woman killing her children. Adagio = Passionate and beautiful.
actualgirltrombone
Haha, exactly what I was thinking. Medea = Woman killing her children. Adagio = Passionate and beautiful. well i've only heard two things by samuel barber.... and I didn't know what they were about. The thing that sounded the same (this is from LD Bell 2003 and i believe westwood this year) is the drumline/tuba/brass line at the beginning of LD Bell's show and the end of Westwood(?)s

Xukaniz
Personally I think Star Wars music would be AWESOME (why hasnt anyone done star wars before? I mean people did Pirates of the Carribean) John Williams, if you really pay attnetion to his music rights GREAT stuff that could very easily be transcribed for MB. and its usually at good tempos too. not to mention the GE potential etc. Midland Lee High School is playing a Star Wars show this year.
